does anyone have a yoga video that they love? I signed up for a class at teh community center.. and due to sick kids, snow days and me being sick.. I had to miss 5 classes out of 11..so I thought maybe I could just buy a video and do it at home..

What can I do next?

Oh boy, this comes down to the instructor, I think.

I have several:
Cathe Friedrich (her focus is mostly cardio and weights, so yoga is not her specialty)
Jillian Micheals (this is actually a pretty good workout)
Shiva Rhea (very earth mother-y and nature-y...yoga is her primary focus)

I think Cathe is my favorite, but that's becuase I do all of her other videos at home, so I prefer her style of fitness.

If you have on demand channels you should have an exercise or health channel. Check these out.

go to ebay and find the P-90X yoga dvd (sometimes people sell off one or two). It is wonderful!! It is challenging, progressive (meaning how it moves you through poses) and there are opportunities for taking your yoga up a notch as you need to.
Warning. It is a 90 minute video. BUT so worth it:)

I have Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown 30 min. 2 workouts/DVD.
Bob Harper Yoga for the Warrior 60 min. and also a 15 min. Ab workout
Rodney Yee AM yoga 5 different 20 min. a piece

I do like all of them...probably Bob's the best if you have or want to do an hour.

Lisa,
I have Yoga Journal level 1 and 2 (Natasha Rizopolous is the instructor) which I have used for several years. I like it because both workouts are just 20 minutes so it is easy to add on to a cardio workout. They are both easy for beginners to follow but still challenging enough. Very relaxing as well.

I have tried some of the Shiva Rea ones with mixed feelings. I did feel that they came closest to mimicking a yoga class. Also the Yoga Journal one I have has very basic poses and it is nice to mix it up. There are a bunch of Shiva Rea dvds and I know one of them I loved but cannot remember the name. A few have felt too "woo woo" for me. You can rent them off Netflix, so that is a great way to try them (I am pretty sure Yoga Journal was available through Netflix too).

Lastly, I like Rodney Yee. I have AM Yoga For Your Week which has 5 20 minute workouts that focus on different things (hips openers, etc). He does a great job explaining things, explaining how your body should feel in each pose.

Hope you can find something you enjoy!
