Has anybody had a child with a yeast infection on their scalp? I was told yesterday that my daughter has this and needs meds for a month. I was just curious what others experiences with this was and what did it look like.

What can I do next?

Believe it or not, our son used to get them alot.

We found that he has a lot of allergies.

It looked like cradle cap on the scalp. It was gross!

If you are looking for something natural for this, please give me a call. We have our own pharmacy of products that my family and others have used and we find ourselves saving tons of money because of the less visits to the doctors office and the products work excellent!

It's typically called Eczema rather than an yeast infection but it is pretty much the same thing. All skin-borne yeast is coming from inside the colon - regardless of where it manifests on the body.

You can treat it without meds - and I recommend this for her own health's sake: Give acidophilus 2x daily and bathe the head in a mixture of 6 drops of tea tree oil in a bowl of warm water (use a washcloth or just pour it over if she will tolerate this). You didn't say how old she is, so it's hard to predict how long you will have to do this. Babies can be treated and have symptoms leave almost overnight, whereas toddlers or young children will require quite a bit more time - perhaps two weeks to a month of treatments to fully get the yeast out of their systems.

To prevent yeast from growing in the colon in the future, avoid the following foods:
Corn
Corn sweetners (read the labels of all foods)
Corn starch
Sugar on a daily basis
Yeasted bread
Soy sauce or tamari
Fruit juice (juice is incredibly high in mold and sugar)

Yes! My neice had that. She actually had such an overgrowth in her body that it started coming out her skin. They treated her probiotics and several other herbs to help get it under control. It also caused other health problems too until they got it under control.

Anything with tea tree oil would be helpful for your daughter. I would be concerned if it's oral medication since this can effect the liver.
