Where to Donate Maternity Clothes

I have boxes of maternity clothes that I need to get rid of. I thought about selling them on ebay/craigslist but as a mom of 2 small children and working full time, I just don't have the time or the energy. I would like to just donate the clothes to a women's charity but I can't find anything online. I found a couple of places that won't take maternity clothes. I know I can donate to Salvation Army or Goodwill, but I would rather donate to a more specific cause. I was looking at battered women's shelters or places for women of domestic violence but found nothing in chicagoland. I live in the city, but will be willing to travel to the suburbs in order to make room in my closet and help a good cause!!!!! Any suggestions would be great!

What can I do next?

It is great for you to make the effort to get the clothes in needy hands!!! I did the same and was shock to find a place - but I did find there is a thrift shop in Evanston - I believe it was though the Junior League that needy women are give coupons from the local shelters to go shop for free...so that is where I gave my clothes - hopefully that is not too far away from Chicago - but it feels good that you might have help another Mom out!!

Constance Morris House is a Domestic Violence Shelter in the South Suburbs that may be willing to take your donation. They are affilaited with Pillars Community Services. You can find them at Pillarscommunity.org. The administrative number for Constance Morris House is ###-###-####. I'm sure they would appreciate the kind offer.
