Where do you store your cosmetic brushes? How often do you clean them and what cleaning solution/method do you use? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I store mine in tall shot glasses on my bathroom counter.
I clean them with a gentle shampoo, and it just depends on how often I use the brush. I rarely use my lipstick brush because I only put lipstick on for special occasions. So I clean it after each use or else it sits there and gets gunked up. Things like my concealer and foundation brushes (which are used daily) are every week, sometimes a week and a half.
ETA: when I store them, the brush side is up...not down in the shot glass. =)

All my brushes are natural hair, don't know what kind you have. They go in a holder on the counter. I wash them once a month with Dawn. The detergent not the other mom on the board.

I use a tooth brush holder, Inside of the holder I have a little alcohol and run them through it after each use and set them handle down in where the tooth brushes would sit and they air dry. I have never gotten and infection and the brushes are about 12 years old and are in great condition. If I need to take them with me on a trip they go in a separate makeup bag with makup wipes and are cleaned with the make up wipes.

I have a short fat little glass and I store them upright. When I wash them, (every week or so) I use gentle shampoo and let them air dry.

I have a small container on my sink that holds my brushes - bristle side up. I TRY to wash them once or twice a month, I forget to do it tho.. I just use whatever shampoo I have, I wash them twice to make sure all the makeup and oil is gone. I let them airdry - but first, with my bigger fluffy brushes, I spin them in my palms to get the open and fullness of the bristles first before air drying.

I only clean my brushes when they are severely dirty, maybe I dropped something in the drawer and it coated the brushes. I just use some dove bar soap and make them lather up my hand. Then I rinse them well and brush them back and forth on the towel.

I wash my blending pads more frequently though. That way I don't get mushy colors blending in with the colors I am trying to use.

Mac brushes are my favortie, i store them in a large make up case (similar to large ziplock bag) clean them every few weeks in baby shampoo.
added: the reason i have them in the bag becasue there is a lot of spraying going on in my bathroom perfume, hairspray, lysol, bathroom cleaning products.
