What to Buy 6 and 8 Yr Old Nephews for X-mas

Movies are always nice. Maybe pair that up with some popcorn and their own blanket. Or get them each a movie gift card and offer to take them.

Target sells Laser Tag guns that are designed for 2 people to play together. They would have a blast. Other ideas are.... snowboard, ripstick skateboard, Hero Factory kits (made by Lego), Battleship game

I buy books - sometimes individuals or the start of a series. I've also bought unique things from trips I've taken. For example, this year I went shopping in China Town and the National Hellenic Museum when I visited Chicago.

I vote Legos. You can get kits for almost any interest.

I would try a "craft" type of toy, like a model or wooden project to put together.

Hex bugs are popular now, Beyblade, gift card to their fave fast food or the $ Tree.

My 8 yo is really into sports--maybe a new football, baseball glove? Do they like trading cards? My 7 yo asked for Cuponk. And Rubik Cube Slide.

what about beyblades, tech decks, there are some cool toys on basspro shops website, nerf guns (not sure about the toy gun laws in the household) the new razor skateboard thing, the one with 3 wheels. If they are into sports you can find out what their favorite team is and get them clothes, posters, balls with the team logo on it. My kids are getting bed tents along with flashlights because they love camping so they can always camp or play camp if they wanted to. Can you get something for them to use together? Or even one family gift, like a zoo pass? I like to theme our gifts to each family, for example: movie night with movies, popcorn, blanket, hot cocoa, that sort of thing.
You could do a puzzle basket with jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, one of those wooden or metal puzzles that they have to figure out.
Or a game basket: a game, snacks (candy, popcorn), special drinks that most parents don't usually buy because they are special and more expensive (but not crazy expensive).
Back to the zoo pass idea: you can do a zoo pass, water bottle holders, visors or hats for the sun, t-shirts.
Or museum pass: similar things, but with magnifying glass, books on particular topics (Answers in Genesis has books for about $20 each that cover either the zoo, museums, aquariums from a Christian perspective that you can add to it (if they are Christians). These have great pictures and can be used to give a more biblical account in contrast to what most museums/zoos, etc will say about evolution. Of course, if that isn't you or them, just ignore that idea.
Have fun! Sometimes just getting the ball rolling on these ideas helps, and you will think of some great ideas that might fit them better.

legos and board games are a big hit with all 5 of my boy nephews in that age range.

K'nex They have all different price ranches & age range, get 7+ for the 6 year and 9 + for the 8 year old if they are good builders. You might be able to find sets that good together after the first build.

I recently bought my 6-year-old nephew the They Might Be Giants - Here Comes Science CD (and I think DVD combo) for his birthday. My sister says he loves it and it isn't annoying to her like some kids music is. I got it from Amazon for around $10.

My 8 year old nephew is crazy for Legos, especially Lego Star Wars.

Another vote for Legos. Would be a hit with both age groups. Just aim for the "cool" sets like Star Wars, Atlantis and anything not too young looking.

What about a small pet like a hamster, mouse, turtle, fish or hermit crab that they could learn to take care of? Maybe a learning laptop (I'm getting my son the Iron Man laptop that's on Amazon). Or maybe music lessons or karate lessons if they are interested?

Legos. But if you don't want to spend the money Beyblades are big with that age -at least in my neck of the woods.

Crafts, or a sports items. I love gifts that use imaginations and outdoor time.

Legos are huge and Beyblades are the new cool thing too. You can always get them a craft type project like build and paint a birdhouse type of thing. My 8 year old loves funny fact books like weird but true freaky facts and The Guinness Book of World Records. You could even get them movie tickets and promise to take them to a movie of their choice.

LEGOS or other things they can build. I think toys r us has them on sale this week buy 1 get 1 50% off....I think. My boys both love legos even my 3 yr old its about all the play with.

My son is this age and loves to build with Legos.

Beyblades are good, J.L. hads a great place, mindware.com, listed. How about board games like Pictionary Man? There are great games on mindaware.com, as I mentioned. Chemistry kit, gift cards to their favorite places, a night at a waterpark hotel (I don't know what you spend, so I am throwing it all out there). Or you could give them each a coupon to spend a day with you including lunch and a trip to the store of their choice to pick out the gift of their choice after Christmas (you set the limits). That way, you get one on one time with each, and they get exactly what they want!

My nephew is into nurf toys, his birthday is comming up and he is turning 5.

My nephew is 7 and has 8, 9 year old cousins and they are all very into legos. He also is getting into the harry potter books and diary of a wimpy kid books. Oh and nephew really wanted the game Headbandz this year for Christmas.
