Hi Mama's!

My husband decided to cook dinner lastnight. Well he turned on 3 burners sat a hot pad down on the top of one burner that he thought was not on. Yep you guessed it the hot pad went up in flames LOL Just as I came in to the kitchen is when he realized what he did.
The look on his face was priceless! I immediately burst in to laughter. He thought he was in trouble haha

So my question is how in the world do I get the burnt stuff off the burner? It's a brand new stove and I don't want to ruin it:)

Thank you all in Advance:) Happy Friday!

Thank you all in advance

What can I do next?

My friends have a flat top and swear by Barkeepers Friend. I don't know what makes it so special but their flat top is spotless. Not a stain in sight.

What has my husband done lately......for some reason he feels the need to jump down last three of our stairs. He won't walk down them, he just jumps. The problem is that where our stairs end the ceiling is very low. At least 3 times in the last month he has clocked himself on the top of the head. If I hadn't known he was ok it wouldn't have been as funny, but watching him go from sailing gracefully through the air to just dropping like a stone cracked me up. It was even funnier the 2nd and 3rd time, because how many times do you need to brain yourself before you quit jumping down the dadgum stairs?

If it's brand new... a warning!

Make sure there is never, ever, ever any liquid on the bottom of a pan (like from washing it, or filling a pot from water. The escaping steam will shatter the top.

Ours has a HUGE crack running diagonal across 2 burners, with a couple smaller cracks going in other directions, and I know 3 other people who have done the same thing (all on my son's soccer team, we got to talking about stoves we hate). The cracks are full thickness going all the way through the glass.

It's a $400 replacement to replace the glass. We decided not to replace ours, because that's almost a whole new range, we'll get a new range at some point (still works, even with the giant cracks)

Sometimes my husband puts a nice white church shirt on my son and feeds him pizza or spaghetti.

Sprinkle baking soda (do not rub in) on the burned spots, cover w/a few layers of paper towel, pour water on the towel until it is soaked throughand let it sit for a few hours.

Yesterday was my husband's birthday...turned 56..

He is truly a remarkably intelligent and successful man. However, he cannot find his way out of a parking lot. I am not kidding. He cannot read a map, or follow GPS in the car....he gets lost all the time. (I am the exact opposite)

So...I found this birthday card....starts off by saying I know how he never gets lost, but just in case, this card is going to help him from now on....and then it unfolds like a map into this big "Where the H#LL am I?" translated into a few languages, b/c he travels so much.....

So my kids and I are standing around him, anticipating the laugh...when he can't even unfold the card correctly...he opens it a$$ backwards, upside down, we have to turn it around for him to read the message, the kids and I lose it and are laughing, he doesn't get it...I still don't think he gets it...that sweet, hopelessly lost man.

So, mix some baking soda with vinegar right over the glass stove stop...let it bubble and sit there for a good 30 minutes. Whatever is left after that, take a razor blade and carefully remove any extra residue. It should be gone, if not, you're left with a stain and probably no dinner from last night.

If it's a glass top, they make special cleaners for it.
I'm not sure what it is call though.
You need that cleaner and a very soft sponge or cloth. So you don't scratch it.

if its a glass stove top, it wont scratch unless you use a diamond studded scrubby, however the stuff they put on it to show where the burner rings are and such is a type of over lay and most scrubbies will take that part off. The baking soda idea does work but it wont get everything off. I get a lot of stuck on stuff on mine I use a razor blade to get that off. Its time consuming but works and it doesnt scratch. I use razor blades on windows for paint so why not a glass top stove.

My husband? hmmmm tried to make bread one day to top me... yeah he thought the dough looked really really dry (um well we know he is not a baker) and decided to add lots of water... so when his bread came out it was a sticky doughy mess but he was determined to eat it. He did manage to get some down but it made him ill. I just sat back and laughed a little and then babied him.

A few days ago my husband insisted on me watching the Halloween 2 movie. I hate scary movies. Although I know it is not real it makes me really jumpy. Few hours later we went to bed. Around 3am he went down stairs for a glass of water. I had no idea he had got up. I got up to go to the bathroom and as I am walking toward the bathroom I peak downstairs(just to make sure) and he is walking up the stairs. It was very dark and I did NOT know that it was him. I thought it was a random person that broke in or something. I started screaming & running back to the bedroom. I scared him with my screaming. He let out a scream too. After picking my heart up off the floor we both laughed about it!

I suggest that you use a scraper to get the big peices off, then use a sponge and Barkeeper's friend for the black stuff. After that, break out a Mr. Clean sponge to get the very last of it.

I've been there. :o)

So a few months ago my DH bought a new wall attachment for the TV so it would sit better and it slides out and turns and it is just fantastic. Well he showed us all how it pulls out from the wall and turns and sat down on the couch to admire his handy work, I called everyone for dinner he stood up and walked right into the side of the TV seriously just WHACK. I laughed so hard I thought I would pee my kids were on the floor he had a big welt in his forehead. So now the TV stays close to the wall.

I was pregnant, and we were in wal-mart looking at cribs. You know how they have a "model size" version of the crib on the shelves instead of the entire crib? Well, I was showing him the crib that I wanted for our son and he looked at the model size that was on the shelf. He was just standing there shaking his head a little. I asked what was wrong. He was like, "I know I don't know a whole lot about babies, but isn't this crib a little small? He'll only be able to fit in it for a month or two."

He thought that the model size was the actual size of the crib. I was laughing so hard, even though I was trying not to because I could tell that he was embarrassed by his mistake. But it was too funny not to laugh!

Hard plastic scraper - a plastic spackle spatula thingee might work well...Call the toll free number on the owners' manual - they might be able to suggest something.

I almost burn the house down this morning when I turned on the stove - I thought it was under the tea kettle but it was under the teak carving board. I ALWAYS use the same burner - and I did this morning so I don't know why I absent-mindedly turned on the wrong one. Jeez - I realize I want a new kitchen but this really isn't the best way to do it!!! Adn now I know what burning teak smells like!

The other night my husband was coming back into our room after tending to our daughter and we always close our door over but not tight. I was laying in bed and he comes in to say something to me while closing the door behind him and he accidentally put too much force into the door and slammed his fingers in the frame. Im a horrible person because I realized what happened right away but instead of asking if he was okay I burst into laughter so bad I almost peed the bed. I felt so bad I had to hide my face
