You could do Hot Dogs and serve them on a plate on top of a big round circle made to look like a thermometer in the red showing HOT

Cold Pizza, on a themometer in the blue showing COLD

White Grapes could be hail

Blue Hawaiian Punch in a punch bowl with swedish fish for a tidal wave or ocean

You could tint dip red and have it sitting in the top of a mock vocano with veggies at the base for a volcano crudete

The first thing that came to my mind was spaghetti and meatballs, because I immediately thought of all the food in the book "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". If you read that before meal time, your choices are pretty limitless.

Or maybe go with your rainbow theme even further and find foods that make up the color of the rainbow (red apples, oranges, yellow squash, etc.).

Or just give food "weather" names. Egg drop soup would be "rain drop soup" - not really first grade party fare, but it was the first thing that came to mind. ;)

Sounds like a great theme!

The only thing I could think of was taking crescent rolls and shapping them into tornados. orange slices could be the sun. popcorn could be snow. make sandwichs and cut them into cloud shapes

Have you read Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs? I'm sure you'd get lots of ideas there! And I guess there's also a movie!
