Way to Compare Insurance Companies?

Hi Moms,
I get mail all the time telling me how much money I will save by switching to this or that insurance company. We currently have all our insurance (car, house, etc.) through State Farm. Is there any online service that allows you to compare rates to see what company would really offer you the best coverage at the best price? How have you found the best deal out there? Would love to hear. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I've been a licensed insurance agent for 17 years (ouch, I feel old!). My mom just started her own insurance agency and my sister works at a different one (doing health insurance).

I obviously have access to have many insurance companies and I quote my home, auto and umbrella annually. That being said, with the 8+ companies I have access to, my insurance is actually with ERIE Insurance. They offer great rates and we, unfortunately, had two claims with them and the claim service was excellent.

If you truly want to compare with many companies, then I suggest contacting an independent insurance agency as they will do the comparing for you. If you are interested in getting a quote from either my mom's office or my sisters, please send me a private message.

Good luck.

When we got our insurance, I talked to individual agencies. First, you will have to figure out what coverage you want/need. You also have to decide if you want to go with a high deductible or a low one. Also, there are plans that guarantee that the rates don't go up if you have an incident. So first, before you can compare, you should figure out what insurance you want and need.

Once you know what you need you can go to different companies and have them quote for exactly what you want. This is basically the only way to compare different companies, if you have them quote for the exact same coverage. All major companies have a website and you can request a quote through their website.

I always get 3 - 4 quotes done, but so far I've always ended up using Pekin Insurance from Pekin IL through a broker who has his office right around the corner from where I live (I'm all for supporting local business).

Yes you can go online and there are services that let you compare.... some are free and some are not... the best bet is to find the most convienent companys and call for a quote and compare that way... it only takes about 5 minutes a call... some websites even hve a quote calculator.

you may save some $$$ but state farm is a good company and not going to screw you over when you need them the most. I remember a whole block had hail damage and everyone with state farm had their roofs replaced and those with the bargain company got screwed. IMO you ALWAYS get what you pay for

I deal in Insurance and we have a service that shops for 20+ A rated company and get you a better deal. Insurance depends on three factors - Demographics, Driving History and Credit score. Each company has a different sweat spot and it is almost difficult to find that if you are in the sweat spot of your campany. I will also not know that but with me you have better chance of getting there. Give me buzz @ ###-###-#### and I will be happy to get you a quote (no cost no obligation) and see if that saves you money!
Please also mention that you are for Mamasource! Got a quite a clientelle..so I do not miss u :-)
