Hi everyone. I just moved here from Kentucky and I am looking for an OBGYN. I lost my daughter at 4 months last year and my husband and I are finally ready to try again. I delivered my daughter and had a condition that caused it, so finding a doctor with a good bedside manner and is willing to answer all my questions is so important to me. This is a very sensitive matter to me because I'm still healing and I don't know where to start in finding a doctor I like. I also need a pediatrician for my 2 year old son.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow, what a great response I got from all of you. Thank you so much for your understanding and guidance. I have made 2 appointments with different offices based on the praise the practices received from yourselves and online reviews. I will go in for consultations with both and hopefully one will work out. Otherwise, I will be able to check back here for other referrals that I hadn't called yet. I will be making an appointment for my son as well. Thank goodness for this website. I didn't realize it would be so hard to move to a different state and not know anyone but you all have been a major help!

I go to Insignia, too, and love it there. The Wesley Chapel office has Dr. Greenberg (male) and Dr. Gooden (female) and they are both awesome. You would have to go to their Tampa office (corner of Bearss and Bruce B Downs) for sonograms, but both doctors have days up there, so you could see them up there, too. They are the nicest doctors in the practice, I feel. Dr. Newton (also with Insignia) is great, too.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss - not that you haven't heard that before. I would assume that your pregnancy would be considered high risk. If this is the case, then there is only one group of Doctors in Tampa that you need to see. Florida Parinatal Associates - www.flparinatal.com. These doctors are known all over the world for there experiences. Each case is worked on by all doctors and not just one so you are sure to get everyone's experience and support. You will have to have a regular OBGYN as well as the high risk group as the they no longer deliver unless absolutely necessary. I know that seems weird, but you will get the best care with these men! They are amazing and if you go to the site and google any of the doctors you will see some of the amazing things they have done all over the world!

While I love my OBGYN, I do not think that The Women's Group would be a good fit for you. They are overly busy now and you need someone that can give you a LOT of attention.

Good luck to you!! And God bless.

I am very sorry for your loss. May I recommend Dr. Irene Wahba in the New Tampa area. She is part of The Women's Group, an all female OBGYN group, that was very professional and compassionate when I lost twins at 23 weeks. I can't recommend that group more highly. My very best to you as you work through your grief and move forward with expanding your family!

Ask your girlfriends who have delivered in the area. Word of mouth is the best referral out there. Good luck!

If you message me privately, I'll give you the name of my OBGYN (located in Zephyrhills). She is very professional and caring. I just went through the loss of a pregnancy at 19 weeks and she was so helpful and caring through everything.

I can also give you the name of my son's pediatrician if you would like that as well. His doctor is also in Zephyrhills.

My heart goes out to you and your family, I could not imagine what feeling you are dealing with on a daily basis.

I have two great Pediatricians for you precious son. They both work from Pediatric Health Care Alliance; Dr. Perkins (awesome) she is rated one the top docs in Tampa bay she is in the Fletcher office. The other is Dr. Wilde and he is located on 54 in Lutz. They have an office in Wesley Chapel but I would not recommend them (Dr. Jacob is not very good).

Pediatric Health Care has evening hours and weekend hours (they rotate offices). I have called Dr. Perkins on several occasions for my son Jordan and she would call right back and encouraged me to call at any time!

Good luck

Dr. Greenberg (male), Dr. Irani (female) both excellent. ###-###-#### is the number to one of their offices they just opened a new location in Wesley Chapel, but I don't have the number handy. For pediatrician Pediatric Healthcare Alliance is excellent. They have several locations, evening and weekend hours. I've seen Dr. Jacob, Dr. Wilde, and Dr. Hartman for 3 years now and I love them all. ###-###-#### is the Wesley Chapel office.

Dr. Jaeger with Partners in OB/GYN is wonderful! I've cried in his office many times, I admit, and he's always very willing to sit down and listen. I've been going to the office for 4 years and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Jaeger delivered my first child. There are 9 doctors in the practice and I think highly of all of them (Dr. Jaeger is my favorite, though!). I'm in Wesley Chapel too, but I make the drive (20-25 minutes for me) to their office on Fletcher Ave. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Best of luck to you and your husband!
