Train, Plane, Taxi, Boat...How Would You Prefer to Travel? JFF

RV and tow a car. Drove all the way from Las Vegas to Key West this spring. Heading to New England and Canada next year.
Love cruising too.

I was just in Hawaii for a week with my daughter and those planes came in awfully handy!! I trust that the pilot wants to get to the same destination as well.

Driving is fine, but I have been hit my half a dozen idiots in the past 15 years.

Favorite mode: plane for those long distances I seem to travel, my car for local transportation.

Dream mode: teleportation, obviously. Step into the capsule, push in the location you want to go (my mom's kitchen, fancy restaurant in NYC, base of the Eiffel Tower, a cool club in Tokyo), press the button and, voila!, you're there.

If it is a long trip- plane, if it's a short trip-car.

By the way, you must not be anywhere near beautiful Lake Tahoe, NV or the surronding area because it is anything but ugly & has tons of trees.

Planes. I love to fly. Once through security, I could sit in the airport for hours, watching people, seeing the planes take off and land, drinking coffee and eating pastries. From the plane, I really enjoy having a window seat and seeing the scenery change. It's amazing to fly cross country and see farms, mountains, lakes, roads, cities and the ocean from the sky. And it's like magic to leave one place in the snow wearing a big ol parka and in a few hours arrive in a completely different environment and see palm trees and bicyclists riding by in their shorts. I'm ready to go!

Plane to cruise ship is an ideal vacation for me :)

I don't mind any of them, but I absolutely adore the train. I have taken the Lakeshore Limited to and from Boston scores of times, and I've traveled from San Francisco to Erie once, which was AMAZING. Yeah, it'd be trains at the top of the list.

I get really scared driving in the mountains and across bridges in a car, but it doesn't bother me on the train, I feel more secure.

After that, walking, Ilove a good hike and have always wanted to do part of the Appalachian Trail. Then a car. Then a boat, we all love boats here. Then the plane, which I haven't been on since 1999, so I've never experienced the tighter security measures.

I live in Nebraska, and if I had the time, I would love to take a train (sleeper car) to CA. Seems like it would be kind of fun and old school : )

With three kids, I prefer trains. The kids can get out of their seats and move around the train. When we were in Europe, the Euro rail had compartments on some of their trains where we could shut the door and not have to share so our daughter could run around and talk without bothering others. It was heaven not having to worry about disrupting other passengers. However, every time I try to find a train, it always takes over 24 hours to get to where we want to go, and that is just unrealistic, so we fly. When we have to start paying to fly with our boys, it looks like we will be taking our car everywhere we go.

LOL... funnyhow different people are. I HATE driving in treed areas. Because it's a pain to see (one can't actually see any great distance at all) and the varying depths trigger nausea and headaches for most people, so you have to stare at the boring old road the whole time. Love horizons.

I like trains best, in areas WITH trains (west coast is for scheisse with trains... practically non-existant, and when they are around they usually cost an arm and a leg &/or only run once a day AND at awkward times. Seriously. I am NOT going to arrive, on foot, in Spokane at 3am. Sigh.). EU and NorthEast, though... I'm on trains like white on rice.

I hate flying and now TSA, so we don't fly.

I like to fly but I don't like the hassel of the secuity checks at the airport. I know they are necessary and I am thankful that these security checks are in place, but I still don't like them.

I also like to drive. Especially if I am going to a part of the country I have never seen. And I like the fact that I will have a car when I get there.

My kids travel great by car and it's always fun to see new things on the road. We are on the east coast, so there is almost always something to look at. I big time dislike I-85 going from MD to SC, which I have to do again in November.

We like long trips with planes because the car isn't so fun after so many hours. We drove to Atlanta in July and that was about 12 hours. Anymore than that and I think we would have gone crazy. That's why we are flying to Miami in January

Hmmm....I hate hate hate to fly. I cry when I am in the air. It's horrible. The last time I flew was 10 years ago and I don't want to do it again.
I would love to travel around on a train. If we are talking LONG travel. If I am just around town then I am going to take my car. But, if I were to try and go down south (CA) or out to the other coast (FL) then I would MUCH rather go on a train.

My husband and I love traveling by train. We have gone aroumd the perimeter of the US and have gone across Canada. Trains go where cars cannot. Lowe usually spend one night , get off for a few days and continue on. Obviously, we are retired. You must have time to travel by train. We just love meeting different people.

I love road trips! I just love to explore, and make lots of stops along the way. The trip is often just as much fun as the destination. Of course if I don't have lots of time to do a road trip flying is OK. I would probably enjoy a cruise as well. I would really love to take a train through the mountains some day.
