I don't know about local hotels as it's within an easy drive from my parent's house, but I can definitely tell you that you can easily cover the whole park in a day.

My sister buys annual tickets because her 6 & 2 year olds love it so much. Last year we took our 12 & 10 year olds there for the day (one-day free pass per year for military members, yay!) & even though I was worried it would be too babyish for my kids, we all had a blast.

I 2nd the idea of water shoes of some type & if you want to beat the crowds, grab lunch the minute the parade starts as there are no lines & all of the outside tables are empty!

Great question. I'll be monitoring as we are going in July. My sister went and she said that it is mostly a water park so make sure you go when it's hot. You are 1/2 hour outside of Philly if you want something else to see, but my sister said that there isn't much and our plan of going up one day, doing wet rides, staying the night, doing dry rides the next day and driving home is perfect. The only reason we are not doing a day trip is because I think the 2 hour drive each way for us is too much for our 3 year old and our 5 month old twins. Check out the website because I think if you go before the end of June, you can get $20 off the ticket price and since kids are $60 a ticket, just like adults it maybe worth it. Also, do you collect Pampers points? You can get tickets to Sesame Place using Pampers points.

We went last August. It was easily covered in a day. We stayed just one might although I remember getting the second day free with our ticket purchase. There is an outlet mall in the area. A casino if that's your thing. And Philly isn't too far away either if you wanted to do a quick second trip.

I also recommend wearing some sort of aqua shoe for everyone in your family. I saw a couple of questionable things especially in the toddler areas. Stock up on hand sanitizer too. Have fun!

There are lots of places to get discount passes (I think McDonald's usually has them, and sometimes the Entertainment book) but if you use any discount, you do NOT get the second day free. If you pay full price, you do. It's kind of a wash, you know? They are good about letting you upgrade a ticket though - so if you buy with a discount, then decide you want the 2nd day, they will usually let you upgrade your discount ticket to a 2-day. Also, if you decide you love it so much that you want a season pass, you can upgrade your day ticket to a season pass (and get credit for the day's admission) as long as you do it before leaving the park. If you buy season passes, buy at least one of the "gold" ones that includes parking & shop discounts (they don't all have to be gold, one gold per family is enough). The food is overpriced and the lines get long... bring in some snacks if you can. Also, kids UNDER 2 are free but my experience has been that they are not too specific, so you probably won't need a ticket for the 2.5 year old if they are on the small side ;)

Comfort Inn within 1/2 mile of SP. With kids that age, I would say one day
is plenty. If you are a member of AAA, you can get discount tickets thru
them. Have fun.

one day is plenty
if your toddler likes water rides you'll be great. i had season passes one year and my daughter hated being splashed in the face so we did the few dry rides they have, and the activites, shows, and so on...
look on their calendar to see if a kids music band is comnig that your toddler likes...my daughter loved the kid concerts and shows there.
bring water shoes and pack lunch. you can eat the lunch in the parking lot there are a few picnic tables and also a few grassy spots. you can also bring lunch and eat it in there as well. bring candy so you're kid wont be sad seeing the other kids eating 5 dollar lolipops and bring popcorn for the shows

Oh if you get a locker, see if you can find someone leaving at the time you're going and offer to pay them the amt they'd get back for returning the key or a dollar more...then you're only paying that one dollar since you'll get back the return money when you return it

I'd stay two days and go to the please touch museum one day in philly and possibly the philly zoo. the kids museum is so awesome!--try and go on a weekday to sesame and also to the please touch or its packed!
OH ALSO if you want to get your kid their favorite character stuffed animal buy it in advance and hide it and give it to them there...their prices are sky high!
