Please give me some suggestions on where to travel for Thanksgiving in Nov. 2007. My family and my sister's family will all go. Although I have two adult children (24 and 25) and my sister has two (ages 20 and 24), I still have two children in middle school (14 and 11) who will want to have fun, too. In addition, we will be taking two more young adults who are the boyfriend and girlfriend of my sister's oldest child and my oldest daughter. So far, we have researched Destin, Florida, Breckenridge, Colorado, and somewhere in the Caribbean. Everyone wants to go to the Caribbean, but since I retired from teaching last May 2006, I'm not sure we can afford to spend the money to send four of us to the islands. The older children will pay their own airfare. We'd like to rent a luxury vacation home. Any ideas?

We had a family function in Destin years ago and had a great time. I think I was only 20 at the time, and there was plenty of stuff to do. We stayed at the Silver Shell Resort and had a very nice luxury suite. As well as I can remember there were 4 bedrooms, and we also rented a cabana by the pool. The cabana was very nice with a T.V., sofa, chairs, bar and a restroom. I would highly recommend the silver shells resort.

Costa Rica is wonderful!!! I have been quite a few different places in the Carribean that do not compare to Costa Rica. We stayed at the Playa de Conchol (SP???) Look it up. It is beautiful!!! Lots to do and see...

Costa Rica!!! They have some great all inclusive resorts. I stayed in the Guanacosta region. It was fabulous. There are tons of things to do: snorkeling, white water rafting, rain forest horse back riding, canopy tours. It's just great!!!

Breckenridge is ok. The weather is unpredictable at that time of year. Most ski resorts have some sort of summer activities, but I'm not sure if that would be a transitional time between summer and winter activities. I did enjoy kayaking on the lake there, but again, I don't know what the weather will be like in November.

Good luck and have a great time wherever you go!!!

Heck I vote for the Caribbean too :) It can actually be fairly reasonable. We love Cozumel and have booked villas - and great hotel rooms - there many times. There are lots of sites out there, but check out: http://www.cozumelvillas.com/

Good luck!
