Taking Zoloft and Having Extreme Nausea

I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second child. With my first I suffered from depression during and after my delivery. I was put on Paxil then. I have been off of that for a year and had been fine. My dr. put me on Zoloft this week to help with some depression I am experiencing and to be pro-active with the post-partum depression. My problem is though that I have started having on and off all day nausea and vomitting. My dr. ran tests to make sure there was nothing else going on and all results came back normal. So I can only conclude that it is the Zoloft. My question is are there any momma's out there that have a similar experience and what did you do to help? I am on my 4th day of feeling like this and it stinks...plus I can't be the mommy I need to be to my 3 year old daughter. Any help/advice would be so appreciated!

What can I do next?

What I had to do was ake it at night right before bed. I can't seem to take any anti depresssants in the am or this is exactly how I feel. But switching from taking it in the am to the pm was all i needed to do to feel better. good Luck!

The first week or so on Zoloft you can feel absolutely AWFUL - but don't give up yet - b/c after that you will feel so much better. I do believe it is probably the medication - it usually only takes a week... hang in there!

I have not taken Zoloft, but I had a hard time taking other meds when pregnant. I found that if I took it, at night, with a higher protein food, such as milk or cheese, that helped me with the nausea.

I took Zoloft in 2004 (until 2008) after the birth of my son. I did not experience any nausea or vomitting. My only symptom was that I was extremely tired for about a week. After the medicine kicked in, I felt a lot better! Keep talking with your doctor, maybe switching to a different medication and seeing if the symptom goes away? Best wishes!

give it a bit longer
if it still doesnt work, see what else your dr reccomends, though Paxil is no longer used during pregnancy (per the pscyh i work for)
