Swim Lessons for Son near Twinsburg Area

I am trying to find a place where I can get swimming lessons for my son. In order to get lessons from Twinsburg it is preferred you have a membership to the health club, which I cant' afford. Otherwise you are on a waiting list and get shoved back if a member signs up. Does anyone know where I can go that you don't need to join a memebership to get lessons?

What can I do next?

If you don't mind the drive, the University of Akron Rec Center offer swim lessons to children and you do not have to be a member. Both of my children (4 and 3) just went through their preschool program and loved it. The price is reasonable as well.

Kent State offers a course called diaper dolphins. I belieive the next course starts in early June - however it is $55 if you are a non-member.

The Macedonia Rec Center offers swim lessons and non-members can sign up - you just pay a little more. I think there's a list of classes on their website.

I took my daughter to Hudson. The swim lessons are from infants all the up. Check out the website

www.hudson.edu/hcer

Some of the classes fill up, so check it out ASAP! Good luck!

Hi L.!

I'm a mom of 3 girls, wife, coach and have a full time job! oye!!! Anyways, not only do we not have time to spend at a place we would join, wasting the money spent to join, we also have more important things to spend the money on, making it not as affordable for us too. BUT, the YMCA here in Cuyahoga Falls lets you pay for the course only, and you don't get bumped if a member wants in the class. Try that?

Have a great day!

I'm confused. Are you referring to the community pool sessions? Or a private club?

The community center in Twinsburg has swimming lessons.
Solon is only open to it's residents.

Per Hudson: http://www.hudson.edu/hcer/379/4973
Many of the classes are on a saturday morning. The other problem is that the majority of Level 1 classes are now filled. Looks like Saturdays at Hudson are your only options. :(

Still, try the Twinsburg community center.

Although its a little bit of a distance, the Jewish Center on White Pond drive in West Akron offers swimming lessons to nonmembers. I recently started with my 11 month old daughter and I have absolutely loved it. On top of great lessons with a friendly instructor in a clean pool, the price is right as well. Best of luck to you.

Have you checked the Mayfield YMCA?
Or Chagrin Falls Athletic Club? I don't think you have to be a member there to sign up for classes.

You may want to try Life Center Plus in Hudson. We're not members and we were able to enroll our son. There were also lots of other non-members in his class. You pay a little more being a non-member, but not that much more. The website is www.lifecenterplus.com or you can call ###-###-####. Hope this helps!

I have been having the same problem! I live in Auburn Twp. in Geauga County (I'm not too far from Twinsburg, I actually get my hair cut there). I signed my daughter up a couple of years ago at a country club (we don't belong to any country club)& they ended up not being very good. Good luck in your findings! Is there a YMCA near you? I've heard Y's have good lessons!
