Suggestions When You Are "In-between" Sizes on UGG Boots, Heels Slip in the Back

Didn't know if anyone else or their children had a problem finding the right size UGG boot to fit them? My teen daughter who had a size 7 pair started getting a blister on her heel and the boots looked like they were getting small. So for her birthday this past weekend, I ordered a size 8, but they are so much bigger and her heel slips right up in the back! There are no 1/2 sizes. I tried them on too, and I usually wear a size 8 1/2 shoe and my heel was sliding too! So, I was just wondering if anyone else had a problem purchasing and sizing these expensive boots. I wish they sold 1/2 sizes!

What can I do next?

Both answers are good. I was going to suggest thick socks, thick wool.

Add an insert, like a gel insert, available at any drugstore or Walmart. You can usually trim them down for a custom fit. They will help fill up the extra space in the boot in a way that distributes the extra space across your daughter's entire foot. If you buy an insert with an arch, make sure the insert's arch lines up with her arch and the boot's arch (if it has one).

When you are in between sizes with UGG boots, you are supposed to order down. Since your daughter has tried 7 and 8 though, I'm not sure what the problem is. Remember, these boots are all leather and will stretch some. They should fit "snug" initially as the fleece will pack down and are supposed to be worn barefoot. (that way you get the skin softening effects of the lanolin in the natutal fleece.

Where 2 pairs of socks or purchase real thick snow socks.

You can buy lambswool and try stuffing the toe...I did this with my daughter's ballet shoes (it's specially made for putting in shoes). It would probably even feel like the interior of the UGG!
