Stretchmark Depression...Help!!!

I am pregnant with my second baby. With my first pregnancy, I got stretchmarks on my love handle areas, but my second one is "blessing" me with marks on my belly and the front areas (JOY!). I am absolutely freaking about it. I am aware that this is the LAST thing I should be dwelling on being 9 months pregnant, but I just cannot help it. I am also aware that I can do very little to help remove stretch marks, but I thought that I would give trusty experience a try and ask what all of you out there have had success with. Right now, I use cocoa butter (No Help), but I think once your body decides stretch marks, there's nothing you really can do about it until they're there. Suggestions, please?

What can I do next?

Hi T.,
I too have the lovely marks from pregnancy. I've tried the different creams which proved to be a waste of money. However, I'll be checking back to see if anyone else has any good advise!

Good luck!

With my first pregnancy I bought vitamin E pills, broke them open and rubbed vitamin E on my belly, I didn't get any stretch marks on my belly, but I did on other parts of my body where I did not rub the vitamin E. I am currently 6 months pregnant with my second and have done the same thing and it seems to be working. I don't know how well it will work on exsisting stretch marks, but it's worht a shot. Just a word of advise, mix it with a little lotion so it's not so sticky...good luck!

There is almost nothing you can do about stretch marks. The only thing that I know of that truely "get rid" of them is having the area taken out as part of a tummy tuck. Don't waste your money on the creams. You can not "repair" the marks or stop them from forming.

If you are going to have them, learn to love them. You can stay moisturized but there is not a thing in the world proven to prevent them. They will fade but never be gone no matter what concoction you may try.

There is a stretchmark cream available called "Mother's Love" you can usually find it at pharmacies, or Wal-mart.

My sister in law had really bad strech marks from pregnancy losing a lot of weight she swears by a lotion she got from Meijers it is called healing garden and she said it was in a green bottle you would just have to read about them. She said she noticed a huge difference in them fading (not gone, but faded) Good luck I hope this works for you.

Hi T.!

I used Body Butter from the Body Shop (I used the coconut scent) to keep my skin from drying out. It's the consistancy of butter so it's exteremly thick but not greasy and works great to moisturize your skin.

Hi T.,

I know how u feel. I barely got any stretch marks with my first born, I lost all the weight quickly and I was back to my normal self in no time. After my second.. I noticed more stretch marks around my tummy (belly button area). I was a little freaked, BUT they did fade to almost nothing. The thing that bugged me the most was the loose skin under the belly button. No matter how many sit ups I do or how much I work out it is still there. I have accepted it along with "not so perky breasts anymore" and have decided to just keep working out and eating healthy and be happy that I have 3 beautiful healthy babies to show for! I think of it as a mark of honor!! :) You get used to your new body and really as long as you take care of yourself you'd be surprised at how well our bodies bounce back and how good we can still look! (he he) Good Luck and DON"T WORRY bout the stretch marks.. THE WILL FADE!! :)

I did awesome through my pregnancy until the last 2 weeks and then I got stretch marks right on the front part of my belly, on both sides of my belly button. WAHOOO!!! Seriously though I ended up asking my dermatologist if there was anything that I could do and she said that they will do what they want to do, when they want to do it. Mine have faded a little but I can still see them. My hubby (trying to be sweet) says that he can't see them, but I'm sure he can. Lords knows I see them when I look in the mirror or look down... Unfortunatly there are no magic creams, at least that's what my dermatologist told me. If you find one let me know!!
