Ok, I asked earlier about what to do in San Diego. It is a short, 4 day trip and really it's to see my brother who we have not seen since before Christmas. However, of course we want to have some fun and he is really excited to take my 2 year old to several places! We will be there over Memorial weekend, so I know the beaches are crowded, but I would still like to go.
I think we have it narrowed down to for sure do Disneyland (both the "boys" want to go, and I'm sure daughter will have fun), and Sea World. We have been to the zoo before and we have a year round pass to a nice zoo here, but we do really enjoy the SDZ. My mom was stationed in San Diego when she was in the military, so she has some other things we can go do, but the three biggies are what I am trying to find decent prices for. Any ideas? Thanks!
Go to the MouseSavers website. We're going to the same areas in June and I used that as a starting point for my research. If you're just doing one day at each place, it's a lot tougher to find discounts, so don't expect to find huge savings. The MouseSavers site also includes tips for San Diego attractions and where you can find discounted tickets.
Costco does have the discounted tickets for DL & SDZ I'm not sure about Sea World but it makes common sense they would. Don't overlook Lego Land. It is way more fun for little ones than Sea World. They have an Aquarium there too so... It's in Carlsbad and we love it!
The only things that have saved us money were...
Buying tickets or 2 day passes and getting the southern california discount or...buying a package at Costco. Believe it or not they sell them in bundle packs, but not all the time. We got our yearly passes for Universal for 30 bucks cheaper (per ticket).
I have not looked for tickets since and don't know for sure if they have Disneyland, but it's worth a look.

You can try AAA or if you belong to a credit union, they sometimes have discouonted tickets!

its a long link so I am not sure if it will work but it is the southern california city pass available on Disneyland.com (i am sure you can get it thorugh other theme parks and I think costco had it at one time or another too!)
We just went to Disneyland a month ago. We looked all over and found the best price was at AAA. All the great deals others told us about either were specials for LA county people only, or the dates were expired by the time we went. They have deals before Easter and we missed it by a couple days. So try AAA. No one asked for our fingerprints when entering the park. Just had to have the e-ticket printed out to get the tickets at the gate. Have fun! It was great!

If any of your family members have So. California ID, they get discounted and/or bundled ____@____.com sure to have them buy tickets at the resort and ask for 'residents/locals specials'. It varies by season, but sometimes you can get a steal. You might be able to find info online at the Disney site, but I've found their site is difficult to search. You might even be able to call to see what the current deal is in advance.
We went to Disney (FL) this winter and they take your finger print when you go through the gates so if you buy an unused portion on someones tickets you'll have to lie at the stall and tell them you have no idea why it is reading that the print isn't yours.
AAA had a small savings but other than buying someones unused portion of their pass you won't find any big discounts (trust me, we looked!).
The Disney saver sites are great for finding out what to do, how to save money once you're in the park. We brought our lunch and drinks everyday - saved a TON of money doing that. As far as ticket prices.... not much savings out there.
We bought our tickets last year on eBay. I know.. eBay is questionable. We got 4 tickets for $220. You pick it up at this place 5 minutes from the park and then you return the tickets at the end of the day. It's kinda weird and dontknow how it works but it worked with no problems and it's for the magic kingdom and California adventures. It was easy and painless.
