I just recently realized that after I shave my legs the razor after two uses (no matter how much I rinse it in the shower) has yucky hair residue in it......so I was curios to know how many uses you got our of your razor and how you kept yours clean???
I do what Sam does, and it lasts me 1 week. I am obsessive about shaving, and shave every single day all year long.
i run mine under the sink with really hot water and bang it out on the sink a few times and then rinse it again.. most of it comes out
How hairy are you guys that you have to bang it on the sink! :p
Could it be shaving cream. I use the Venus razor with three blades and whatever the Gillette shaving cream is. I throw out a blade before I get any sort of build up on the blade, no banging needed. I just rinse it under the shower head and hang it back up.
I use Venus too. Sometimes I use shaving cream, sometimes just soap. I use it probably at least 10 times before replacing it and I rinse under water after each swipe.
I usually dont use razors. I use Nair (the sensitive kind even though my skin isnt sensitive) it leaves my skin soft and smelling good! If you get tired of using razors you should switch to Nair, get the Shower kind though.
I always make sure to rinse it from the back, that way the hair comes out the way it went in and is less likely to get stuck.
When I used cheap razors I ALWAYS had that problem. But razor's like Venus have larger open wholes on the back. It turn the back of the razor arond and hold it up to hot water and it just rinseright out. They are pricey but its worth it
Like others, I use Venus razors, and they are great. They are more expensive but you can always find coupons. This weekend there was a buy one get one free coupon in the newspaper. I hope this helps.
I used to keep mine head down in a small cup of shower spray cleaner. Keeps the edge sharper, longer as it doesn't rust or deginerate as quickly. Also cleans it while it sits there.
I saw where you can extend the life of your razor by running it along jeans. This is not the video I saw, but the same concept.

I googled "razor on jeans" and several videos come up.
I use several different kinds of razors and don't have a problem getting them clean. I do like the ones AV mentions.
