My 15 month old has had a really hard time with teething over the last 24 hours. Very little sleep, has eaten very little, and has all of the signs of teething; excessive drooling (he never drooled during infant teething), fever, fussy/crying, irritable, clingy. He was up at 2am this morning and has only slept for 3 hours off and on since then, and he has already had a tough/restless 1 hour of sleep tonight. I did give him some Tylenol to help him through the fever, but it doesn't seem to be doing much for his pain. What did you do for your child during the nighttime hours of hard teething?
Oh boy, turns out it is Hand Foot & Mouth! Plus, 3 of his molars are about to pop through, so he's getting a double wammy big time :(

Tylenol doesn't put a dent in my kids' teething pain. Only Ibuprofen helps my babies sleep (ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, which is exactly what is needed for teething pain), and during the daytime I let them eat popsicles.
Frozen baby washcloths for gnawing!
Maybe try some Motrin?
Honestly, we kept a stack of frozen wash clothes in the freezer. I would push them on her gums and also let her chew on them..
Frozen bananas, frozen little bagels..
I even gave her some Benedryl just to make her drowsy enough to fall asleep.
I am so sorry, your baby feels so bad.. I hate when we cannot take the pain or yuckies go away.
Gave Ibuprofen, Tylenol did nothing for teething pain.

A frozen teething ring worked wonders for my little ones. It helps numb the gums and pain. Also, ibuprofen is certainly better for sensitive gums. Tylenol had very little effect for my kids as well.
