We go to PS Dance right there by the post office. Dance is a school year thing though so we are having our recitals this weekend and then it starts up again Sep. 10th. They are taking registration right now though for next Fall.
They are going to be moving to a bigger studio over by Walmart sometime next year so that'll be great. Here's their number: ###-###-####
As far as swimming I would check with the community ed office.

C.,
Here is the website for Elk River's Community Ed. http://www.elkriver.k12.mn.us/communityed/communityed.html
There are a few dance studios out there to try. I would suggest to find an established one. My sister and her neighbors tried a new one in Rogers two years ago and it was a nightmare. At the end of the year the people stole their money for the outfits and they didn't put on the promised recital. Good Luck.

Community Ed offers swimming lessons but I wouldn't do any of the dance classes for the little ones. My daughter took the tap/ballet class in the summer of 2004. I will never do that again. There are so many kids and it's more of a fun thing to do rather than learning to dance.

Regarding the dance classes -- I believe there is a dance studio in the same strip mall as the movie theater, so you could try there. I think there is also another one in town, maybe downtown area (by the post office) -- I think there is one there or at least used to be. Sorry I cannot offer any more info as I've never signed up for dance lessons in the area.

Agree with pp -- Community Ed (I think through Parks and Rec Dept.) offers swimming. I've been wanting to sign my son up for those too. It seems they only offer swimming for infants and toddlers in the summer months.
