I'm have been a little stressed out lately and I think it's because I haven't been anywhere with anyone besides my sons' father. Sometimes I think that he just doesn't get what I am going through at home. It's like, I don't have any down time and I can't seem to find anyone with the same or similar interests as I do. I guess what I am looking to find out is how do I go about finding some new friends..lol

Hi! I'm also a sahm. I'm 33 yrs old with a 2 1/2 yr old daughter. I also have trouble at times finding things to do or places to go. Now thats colder it gets a little harder. I subscribed to Time Out Kids New York and they have weekly listings of acivites, sometimes free and inexpensive. You can also go to GoCity.com. They are pretty good.

Are you interested in having a home based business? If you are let me know and I'll tell you the two I run.

I am 25 years old stay home mom of a 4 month old who lives in manhattan. and I would love to talk with you more and go on outings, I know its getting colder now, but my biggest issue is I am trying to find a home base business so that I can see my daughter grow and her father doesnt pressure me to go back to work but I would like more financial freedom. He is in a group outside of work so sometimes when he gets home he's tired, or he has meetings, he is going to DC this weekend so alot of times, its just my daughter and I, we may sleep well into the afternoon and count down the hours before he comes home then he is falling asleep or watching sports. Then me and her are up late watching tv. I dont have any friends with small children so they are out dating droppping there children off with family members and working so our talk time is not the same. I hate seeming bored because then he wants to go to his families house and I am not that fond od them. Sometimes I feel like I M GOING TO EXPLODE. I am depressed at times and stressed. I am not use to this because before my daughter I was modeling/traveling, now I am just trying to figure how to drop the weight and not miss moments with my daughter.

I was in the same situation when I first had my child. Men don't understand the work mother's have to go through, unless we put them in that situation. I suggest, this is what I did because we do need time for ourselves. My friend and I went to a yoga class, spa, lunch and a movie one Saturday. What happen to the friends you had prior to giving birth? There has to be something, even a little, bit, that you and your friend are interested in. Catch a movie, go to a music or go for drinks. Just catch up on things. Get back to you because before your son' there was you. I think all of this is putting a toll on you and you need a mini self-vacation.

I'm not a stay at home mom, but I am there very often. How old is your child and what part of Brooklyn do you live in? I'm in downtown Manhattan and interested in making new friends as well.

Hi C.,

Try going to storytime at your local library or at Barnes and Noble. Also search for playgroups at playgroupsusa.com. There might be a mommy only group in your area. There will be other SAHM's with their kids at different activities so the kids will have a good time and you might make some friends. I have found several friends this way who share similar interests as me because they are in the same "boat." Good Luck!

This way was a pretty good one, telling us! I have the same problem. I'm a writer and music composer, but I also home school my 10-year-old, so my only down time is in the housein my room, after they go to bed.

My situation keeps me from raising the funds to print up my book, and get out, to get exposure, and I'm going crazy, too.

What are your interests? I hope other moms give you tremendous response, maybe this is the start of something cool!!!
