Hello all! I am due to give birth to my first (a boy) the first week in May and I need to get down to the nitty gritty of finding a good pediatrician in the area. We are in the Oak Hill area, but are open to anyplace south, of course. Any recommendations? Thank you so much!

We LOVE Dr. Diane Garza. She is with ADC South on James Casey, which is off of 290 by South Austin Hospital. Now, I did not care for some of her partners, but the PA is WONDERFUL, Ms. Linda.......
Good Luck.

I have 20 month old twins, and love Dr. Ward at ARC at the corner of Ben White and S. 1st ###-###-####). He has a very sweet demeanor, soft spoken, has interesting ways to keep the kids engaged and still for him to exam them. He is very calming, really takes his time with you and does not rush through the questions, and he even made a house call for a friend of mine.....Who does THAT anymore?!

Good luck.

We really like Dr. Siv Fasci. She is part of the Southwest Pediatric Associates in the Seton Southwest Health Plaza.

Hi,

We live in Circle C, and there are two practices which are popular with our neighborhood.

We go to Austin Regional Clinic on Brodie. Most of the pediatricians have been there a long time and are very helpful. Another advantage is there is an After Hours clinic in Far West if you need an evening appointment when your child is sick. I recommend Dr. DeWitte - she was fabulous when our almost four year old went through ear infection hell when she was nine to thirteen months. Disadvantages include: parking is not plentiful, the waiting room is pretty bare bones (difficult when you are trying to entertain a toddler), and the fact that it is a VERY BUSY practice (i.e., call before eight AM if you need a sick child appointment. Well child appointments need to be scheduled three months in advance. HOWEVER, they are more flexible with Birth - 2 years scheduling as these kiddos are seen more often). However, we have stayed at the practice because of the good luck we have had with the physicians and Physician's Assistant, Chris Crocker. However, I feel like Moms need to know the disadvantages also.

There is a Pediatrician practice by Seton Southwest (in the medical offices plaza) off 1826 - very close to Oak Hill. I do not know much about it, but some of my neighbors have said good things about it.

Hope this helps!
