I'm not happy with my current OB. The OB is great but the staff isn't reliable as far as returning phone calls in emergency type situations. I'd like to find a female OB with a responsive staff. I'm looking for someone affilited with Avista, but other hospitals in the n-w Denver area are okay too. My current one is with N. Suburban, but I'd be up for St Anthony's North as well. (I think those are the 3 hospitals closest to me in Westminster.)

Any recommendations?

I'd also need to find a pediatrician (for the baby after it's born) in the Westminster/Broomfield/Arvada area.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My birth went great. Labor was induced because I was developing Toxemia. We didn't do any specific method, but used some positioning (our options were limited because they had to do internal monitoring and watch my blood pressure) which helped. My husband was awsome and my doula was helpful, but not as much as I would have liked. My labor was super fast. I did get one dose of narcotics to help relax through contractions (it worked miracles although it made me REALLY loopy) and now I have a healthy wonderful baby boy. We've been using the pediatrician from the hospital but may not stay with him he's given some incomplete advice that has resulted in problems on two occasions. We will either see someone else in the same office or find a new office.

Hello K.:
My ex-wife went to Dr. Spears. I did the research and she made the decision to go to her and has been very happy. She is at Avista. I have spoken to her and her nurses many times and they have been great in helping us out. She's in demand so getting that first appt. may take a while. Her education and background are top notch. She is an OBGYN.

As far as a Pediatrician, I swear by my Daughter's (the center of my universe) Pediatrician. I went through an exhaustive search and did extensive research (I'm picky that way) to find my Pediatrician. I was using an Awesome Pediatrician in Englewood (the best I've ever seen) and she recommended her school mate and colleague when we moved to Broomfield. I did some research on the recommendation and found her to be just as good. My very picky Daughter went through 3 Pediatricians before she happily accepted Dr. Middlemist (when we were in Englewood) and Dr. Dickerson. All the doctors at that office
(at Avista) are great. The staff is great and very accommodating. My 4 y.o. Daughter loves going there and feels secure when I tell her I'm taking her to see Dr. Dickerson.

I can't offer much help on an OBGYN since we are Kaiser, but I can highly recommend Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. It is on U.S. 287 just north of Dillon Road/E 470. The staff was awesome and they have a great moms group that runs for about six months after the baby is born. Good luck!

SHE is an excellent, excellent Dr. I strongly recommend all women go to her office she is a great Dr. It is super comfortable- SPA like comfort, she will answer all your questions and she is interested in treating you. She returns all phone calls has evening and weekend appointments, I came from NY and I must say she has the whole package- she is smart, informed, knows her stuff and provides excellent service. She returns all my calls or will even answer herself, I get reminder calls for appointments that I need, reminder calls for appointments I have, she always calls to inform me of my test results good or bad and determines a plan of action.

She is excellent..... Good Luck with the new baby....It will be pure joy. I go to a pediatrician in louisville, they are excellent and work closely with children's hospital.

Hi K.,

I'm a Bradley Method Childbirth Educator and birth doula, and I have had students in the past who've birthed with Dr. Loralie Moeller at Avista and they just loved her and the team there. The contact number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps.

I went to Westside Womens Care off of 80th & Kipling, they were awesome!!! They offer Midwives & OBGYN's, I used the midwives & they were all so friendly & helpful. I also went to Dr.Gablehouse off of 38th & Wads for my Peds, but no longer go there as a change of insurance :(, I LOVED them & regreted that I had to change. Good luck & Congrats ;)!!
