Hi. Im due in about a month and I am trying to find a good Pediatrician in the area. I've had absolutely NO LUCK with doctors throughout this pregnancy, so I recommendations are highly appreciated. My insurance is Medicaid. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Im really looking for a doctor who isn't always rushing you in and out, and makes you feel comfortable asking questions and acts like they're in the business for the right reasons!

What can I do next?

K.- We totally LOVE Dr. Joseph Cannizaro (or maybe it's Canizzaro-they just call him Dr. C). His practice is called Pediatricians Care Unit. He is wonderful-never rushes you. He encourages healthy lifestyle/preventative measures instead of simply medicating every problem as it arises. He supports vaccinating or not, whatever you want. I love that he knows me and my kids (I have 4). Their number is ###-###-####. He also has an attached, walk-in-clinic for those days when you wake up with a sick child. ANd he has week-end hours.
Hope this helps,

I had the same problem during my last few months of pregnancy and due to my discomforts and complications I opted for a pedietrician that was near my home instead of seeking recommendations like you are doing. The end result was the pedetrician near my home was awful and I immediately turned to the recommendations of friends who had young children. I was given the name of Dr. Armando S. Garcia at All about Kids Pediatrics. As a new Mom I had all the anxiety coupled with the emotions from the hormones but he was gentel with me and most importantly my baby. He was very patient, and took his time and he repeatedly asks if you have questions. I don't think you will be disappointed with him,he is wonderful you can reach him at (4-7) ###-###-####. Oh and the after hours service is great they even follow-up the next day to ensure you and the baby are ok.

Hi! We live in Winter Springs as well and my son goes to Lake Mary pediatrics and sees Dr. Miles Landis. He has been great. My sister has also seen him for the past 7 years. They respond to you right away and have good hours. We are always able to get right in if there is any problems. I would not take my son anywhere else.

I can recommend a pediatrician in Ocoee (west of Orlando). His name is Dr. Muhammed Saleem and his office is in Health Central at 10,000 W. Colonial Drive. Ph# ###-###-####. He accepts medicaid. I have taken my kids to him for the past 5 years and have been very pleased. Sometimes he will mention the latest statistics from a seminar he has just been to about children's obesity or diabetes, so he seems to stay current on new information. He has always taken time to answer my questions and I'm happy with the quality of care from him and his staff.

I really like Dr. Andrew Summers. His practice from the front desk to the medical staff are funny, patient and extremely kind. Dr. Summers runs an extremely breastfeeding friendly office. He has two offices one in metro west and one in Baldwind park very easy to get to. He is worth the drive for me I live by UCF. ###-###-####

I just had a baby 6 months ago and I use to go to a male doctor for 6 weeks in Orlando. I switched to Dr. Lisa Ramey in Oviedo when he was 8 weeks old and she is very kind and caring. She noticed right away on his first visit that my son needed some physical therapy for his flat spot on his head, unlike the other doctor. She also has 2 children of her own. I know she is going out on her own in August. I don't know if she will take Medicaid. Her phone number is ###-###-####. The address is 30 Windsor Mere Way, Ste. 100, Oviedo, FL 32765. Good luck!

Hello, I live in Winter Park. I have two girls ages 4 and 1 and have switched pediatricians several times until finding Dr. Cannizarro in Longwood. He will take all the time in the world to talk with you and he is also into alternative medicine and holistic nutrition. Go to www.pediatricianscareunit.com for info on his practice.
