Hi moms!
I have been here in Omaha for almost a day and I am wanting to find my 2 yr. old son a great doctor. He has allergies and asthma and I would like a friendly Dr. that is great with kids and will allow time during the appointments for my questions to be answered and not feel like I am being rushed through like cattle. Also, he is slightly delayed in speech and has been in speech therapy for the last 6 mos. so a Dr. that is experienced with those issues would be a plus!
Thanks so much! I am in the old market area of Omaha but will be looking around Papillion or Bellevue for homes. (I think) :)

What can I do next?

My daughter's pediatrician is wonderful - we go to Children's Physicians at 168th and Q and see Dr. Walenz. She is very personable and nice and I never feel rushed with my many questions. Her nurses are also great.

Hi S. and welcome to Omaha! Our doctor is Dr. James Cervantes and he is in Bellevue. His phone number is ###-###-####. They have evening and Saturday hours which I have always found helpful. He's been my boys' doctor for 8 years (since they were born) and he's fantastic! Also, something that I think is very important is that his nursing staff has been with him as long as we've been going there. There is NO turnover in nurses and that speaks volumes, I think. Also, he has a Physicians Assistant named Carrie and she is just wonderful also. If you want to know more about him or his office, or staff, you can send me a message and I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you might have. Good luck on your search. ~R.

Hi S.,

I love my daughter's pediatrician. Her name is Dr. Sandra Baumberger and she is with Creighton University. She works in the Old Market clinic on 13th and Leavenworth and also at the Florence clinic which is further north on 30th st. She has been my doctor since I was pregnant, so she's been with us since before my daughter was born. She has 3 children of her own, so she's very understanding when it comes to parents' fears and questions. She is very knowledgeable and has a great bed-side manner. I think you would really like her. In addition, the staff at the clinic are just awesome! They know me and my daughter by name and are just so friendly. The clinic phone number is ###-###-####. Good luck with your search.

I have a great pediatrician out in the Millard area that I take my daughter to. She is Dr. Lisa Whitcomb with Physician's Clinic. About a 178th & Q St.
In the old market area I know of a good doctor (not a pediatrician), Dr. Mark Goodman. His clinic is in the old market. I used to see him myself, but he does get busy. So I started seeing his Nurse practitioner, Mrs. Levy. He is an awesome doctor. He sees many of the disabled children and adults that I have worked with. I think many of his associates are awesome too. the clinic is located on 13th and Leavenworth.
Because of my job connections I've heard of other good doctors, but have not experienced them myself. Dr. Amstulz in Papillion area, Dr. Flearl with Children's hospital. I wish you luck in finding a good pediatrician!

Hi S.,
I don't know how far you are willing to drive, but Dr. Patrick Steinaur (Dr. Pat) is very kid friendly and personable. He is part of the Village Pointe Pediatrics group at Village Pointe (at 168th and Dodge St) There are about 6 doctors in the group and they are all excellent! Their hours are great too. Evening and Saturday appointments are available. They encourage meet 'n greet appointments just to come in and chat with them to see if you are compatible with their ideas and personalities.
If you are looking to reside in Bellevue or Papillion then you are looking at a good half hour drive to get there though, so I don't know if you want your pediatrician that far away. They are really wonderful and the nursing staff return calls in a timely manner. I should know,I call them all the time! LOL
Good luck with your search and welcome to Omaha!
A.

We see Dr. Katherine Anglim out of the Children's Physicians office on 138th and Maple. She works part-time (M-W-F). I have never had a problem getting into her. I never feel rushed. When I need to get in a day she isn't there I would typically see Dr. Alka Dasai who I also like. I have seen other people in that office and have never disliked anyone. I am going on baby #3. They also have Saturday hours and the after hours emergicare is there too. ###-###-####.
