Searching for a Swing for Heavy Babies!

Does anyone know where I can purchase a swing for a big baby? My son is 5 months old and already 22 pounds. He loves his swing but it barely moves! The weight limit on the swing and even most bouncy seats is 25 pounds. Is there a website for big baby equipment? I found one infant to toddler rocker that goes up to 40 pounds at Target and it has been a life saver! Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

If you are just looking for something to keep him contained and entertained, I recommend an exersaucer or walker (as L. as there is no danger of steps). Also the jumperoo - which is similar to the johnny jumper but doesn't require a doorway. These things are all fine as L. as he can hold his head up on his own - which I assume at 5 months is not an issue.

You are not alone! Just remember to keep note of weight requirements - especially on car seats!

I know this problem all to well. My son is 14mos, 33lbs, 33in, and loves his swing. He is in the Ocean Wonders swing- it goes front to back, and as long as it is on full it moves well with him in it. I dont remember what the weight limit is, but the swing has been holding up great. It takes 4D batteries. Good luck with your search.

Atlast some else has the same problem lol i have a 5 month old who is 19 lbs and we had to get a bigger car seat already it holds up to 35 lbs rear facing it was 130$ but as for a swing and such i could not find one for him b/c he is so big and at his doctors aptment i asked his ped and she told me that if you go to babies r us and ask at the dest they should have a book that you can order from for plus sized babies. Morgan is in the 90th percent for height and weight. Good luck and please let me know what you find.

I tried looking for different things, and this is what I came up with.

My son is 1 yr old now but is in the 95 percentile. He weighs 29 lbs from last month when we went to get his shots. If you do find somewhere let me know. I have him in his swing still & he loves it but it dont swing much. He grew so quick out of the bouncy seat too.

my son is big too, at 5 months he was 18 pounds, but he was only 6lbs 8oz at birth so he grew quick!
the natures touch baby papson cradle swing is the greatest, it moves front to back or side to side. i also have the fisher price ocean wonders travel swing, which is nice! they both hold up to 25 pounds. sometimes changing the batteries often helps with the speed!
his weight gain will taper off as he is getting older & more active! so you'll have some time with them- hopefully!
but he is most likely ready to be up & moving so
i also suggest the jumperoo, my son starting using that around 4 months- it's great! or the around we go exersaucer.

good luck!

Hi I'm not sure I can help my son was 23lbs at 3 months, most swings go up to 25 lbs and sitting on their own which he has also doing, I think he was to fat to move like weeble wobble but the ocean wonders from side to side is the best. Or a johnny jump up which you can get in different shapes, all four of my children loved these for months as long as your door facing is secure.

K.,

I wish I could help you. I understand your concern! My son is almost 6 months and 25 lbs. I have not been able to find many things to accomidate, but if he is sitting up, I have found that the high chair, exersaucer and jumper keep my son occupied. Hope these suggestions help you!
