Does anyone know of any good scrapbooking software for a Mac computer? I was really good about printing pictures and creating my own scrapbook with my first one but my poor second son has all his pictures stored on the digital cameras and the computers. I'd like to find some good software to save me some time:)

I use photoshop elements 6 and love it but it takes a while to learn how to use. I also use smilebox.com and howfasttimeflies.com for quick easy premade pages. Howfasttimeflies.com has the greatest layouts and the printed quality is great!!!!!!

Creative Memories StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 sells for $64.95 and is AMAZING!!! You can create softcover (cardstock) scrapbooks in 7x5 and 8x8 sizes and hardcover scrapbooks in 8x8,11x8.5, and 12x12 sizes. You create it on your computer and then upload it to the Creative Memories Photo Center and they print it and ship it to you. So easy! It will work with a Mac...you just have to make sure you have the right things on your Mac. Here is some info that I pass out to my customers:

Macs and StoryBook Creator Plus
First...in order to even have the option to run CM's software on a MAC, the MAC needs to have an Intel Pentium processor installed. These began to come out sometime in summer of 2006.

To run PC programs on a MAC you need two things:
Virtual PC software in your MAC (this allows Windows to run)
Windows software (this allows CM's software to run)

For the virtual pc software, I know of three choices:

One, BOOTCAMP is from MAC and is now installed in new MACS. This program works by SHUTTING DOWN the MAC and opening it again in Windows mode. So...you choose between Windows and Mac each time you use that computer.

Second, there is Parrallels, and third, there is Fusion. Fusion seems to have the best track record and uses less RAM, so it allows the computer to be faster. The reason Fusion is better (to me) than Bootcamp is that you can have windows on your MAC screen. You can minimize it or make it full screen. No turning the computer off and on. When you are done in Windows, you can push a button and "suspend" it, so that the computer is not "thinking" about two operating systems at the same time and you have all the speed available in your RAM.

So, after you install Fusion, (it can be downloaded for $80 or bought from Amazon.com for $60) you then install Windows. If you already own a PC, you may own a Windows disc. If not, you need to also buy Windows. (About $180). Windows allows three installs, so you will be able to convert two more Macs to be Windows-compatible. You can go ahead and buy Microsoft Office, too, so that the PC side of your Mac has everything you would ever need. (That was another $149).

Below is the link to the Fusion website:
http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/

So...it does cost to convert. The most cost efficient method is to use the Bootcamp that is already inside a new MAC and install a Windows disc you already own. I am sure there will be some people in this situation, so it can be quite an affordable option!

Call me if you have more questions.....D. ###-###-####

I love scrapblog.com. There are LOTS of free and premium items. You can start with a blank page or one of their templets. I started using it with my granddaughter. Books can be ordered starting at $9.00!!! I did our summer vacation this year in a hard back. It is 39 pages and it only cost about $49.00 (they were running a special and they do that quite often!)! I could have never done a traditional scrapbook with that many pages for that amount. They also offer gift items and cards. On top of really enjoying making the scrapbooks, I have made many friends from all around the world. If you would like to check it out, I am "May May's Lolo".

I also use smilebox.com when I need something really fast. Just drag and save! Super easy.

Hi G.
I just started working for a company called Heritage Makers. We are a digital scrapbooking company, and would be perfect for what you are looking for. We actually do not use a software program, it is entirely web-based. This is great because you can have access from any computer. There are no kits to buy either. You can either have the company publish an entire book, or you can have scrapbook pages printed to fit into your scrapbook. And, honestly, the best part is that you have me:) No, really, it is my job to ensure your success, so when you have a question, need some help or ideas, or anything else, you can just call! I would love for you to contact me and be able to share more about our company with you. You will love it!! ~A.~

Another vote for Photoshop Elements! I use Photoshop CS3, but Elements is very good, especially if you are a beginner, and it is much more affordable. If you are new to Photoshop or Elements, it may seem overwhelming at first, but there are lots of great free tutorials that will get you up and going in no time.

Stampin' Up! has come out with a new digital paper crafting software for pc or mac. It is very user friendly. It has pre-made pages where you just drop in pictures, or you can build a page from scratch. It has lots of options to add to your pages, like ribbon, brads, and other accessories. You can also build cards, calendars, and other digital projects with music. If you would like more info on this you can contact me ____@____.com, or go to www.stampinup.com. Hope this helps.

Photoshop Elements!

I'm an avid digital scrapbooker (on the mac). I'm not sure it really saves you that much time though! LOL. It does make "cleanup" and "setup" easier though. Templates can help things to faster.

scrapgirls.com is one of my favorite digital scrapbooking sites. They used to have babybook album templates. (both 8.5x11 and 12x12).

I use the Creative Memories Storybook software and LOVE it (I'm a customer not a consultant)! I have a PC but it's supposed to work on both. I do all my scrapbooking electronically these days, much easier with little ones who want to get into everything, and I really love being able to manipulate my pictures into any size I want. Good luck!

I have an existing nightmare trying to switch my Creative Memories Scrapbook Deluxe 3plus over to my Mac. you can read below the process and it is a nightmare, costly and very tedious if you are like me and have dozens of ongoing projects on your PC along with hundreds of dollars of purchased packages and png files from Creative Memories. I cannot believe they do not have a MAC version of this program!!! I just spoke with their level 2 tech support today and he said it will be about a year (possibly more) before they have a MAC version. I still cannot find a program even close to the CM software. Creative Memories, get with it!!!!! :(
