I have a 3 year old that is autistic and I'm looking for a school that is geared toward teaching autistic children. I live in Chicago but I'm looking for the best school in Illinois. Any recommendations?

If I'm not mistaken they just opened a great school for just Autistic children. I know it is on the South side, not exactly sure where; I think it is around the area of 18th and loomis. I heard this is one of the top of art school. You can go through Suburban Access and ask one of the case workers for the school listing in your area.

My nephew is autistic and my sister found a wonderful school in Naperville. It's called Krejci Acedemy. He is now 15 and has done so well over the years (he has been going there for 7 years) that he is now taking 1 class at the local high school.
My brother works with kids with autism, and he recommends Easter Seals, or JCFS. He says to look for a place that does DIR and ABA but not exclusively ABA. He also mentioned that he thought maybe Agassi in Chicago was starting a preschool program, but he wasn't sure. Hope this helps Good luck

I have a good friend whose two children are autistic. One is worse than the other, but they both go to Easter Seals' Autism
Therapeutic School Chicago. It's at 1950 West Roosevelt. I think they also set her up with in-home therapy sessions a couple of times a week.
Good luck with everything. I see what a strong person she is and has to be. God has blessed her with these kids and she does a great job in raising them. You have been chosen too.
