Quick question. Are you up and ready (showered, make up dressed for the day) when you take your kids to school? I am trying to start off this year with some changes and this is one for me. I stay home with my 5 year old and we spend WAY too much time in our pajamas. Now, dont get me wrong- if I am going in the school or errands and such I am ready to go. We dont run the town in pajamas. I think I will feel better for the day if I am up and ready by the time my kids get up. Just curious what you other moms do?

nope-never-not even once! I wear my jammies to the bus stop as a matter of fact! I do get up early (6 am and the kids get up at 8) to read my paper and have coffee but I never shower and dress. I like to do that after they are out of the house.

I like to be up and completely dressed and ready to go for the day before my son gets up in the morning.

I start off in sweats and a t-shirt because once my kids get on the bus at 8:15, it's workout time! I really try to make it a priority to exercise first thing, otherwise, I'd come up with too many excuses not to do it later in the day. Once I've worked out, I shower and get ready for the day. Usually it's 10am by the time I'm dressed and ready for errands, chores, household running, etc. I have until 3:30pm to get everything done. I rarely take my kids to school, but when I do, it's in sweats because it's just a drop off, I don't even get out of the car. I usually take about 1/2 hr in the afternoon to just relax, have a cup of tea and chill out because I know that once 3:30 hits and the kids get home, it's a whirlwind of homework, afterschool activities, and making dinner until 8:30pm when the bedtime routine starts. By 9pm, I'm beat and usually asleep by 10. My days are hectic, but I love it!

This is one of my resolutions for the new year as well! I think it just becomes too easy to stay in jammies if I don't get ready before the kids are up; I get busy making breakfast, doing laundry, chores, and before I know it it's the afternoon! Good luck with the new changes :)

I get up and straight into the shower before the kids up. I just find it much easier that way. I find a shower wakes me up and the time I get there is my "quiet time" that I need to prepare for the day.
At weekends I slack a little but still get showered and dressed pretty early, just not before the kids are up.

I always get dressed - as soon as I get up. It is way to easy to be caught out by the teacher wearing your jim jams!

I'm the same way as of right now we are still in jammies we have nothing to due but get ready for school.I book appts early so on thiose days i'm up ready before my kids then they can have their time to get ready then we are out the door.I don't go anywhere unless i'm showered hair & makeup done for my kids showered & dressed.I think that is is a slump in th sahm's world we clean up nicely but at home we are frumpy.I do feel better when I have a few hrs out but now with all of them home only 1 goes to school FT but I just don't want to go some place just to go I have nothing to get from a store all that was done on Saturday so we are just enjoying time home cleaning up working on my daughters birthday party getting everything back inorder after the holiday break so for we can be ready to go come school & appts for the rest of this week( it drives me insane not to have things organized cleaned folded put away then having tom look for what we need creating another mess in the process)So all who knows me knows how I run things i'm not always this ugly & frumpy

I found it's easier for me if I'm showered and dressed before my son. Otherwise and I can't explain why I seem to lose 20 minutes in there somewhere and we are running out the house like crazy people.
