Recommendations for Private Schools in the Cambrian Area of San Jose

If you want a smaller class size with more individualized instruction in the Cambrian area, check out Chrysallis School at Foxworthy and Ross. There are so few kids that they just have two classes, K-2 and 3-6, and each kids works at their own pace. My daughter went there K-1, and I think she benefitted from individual instruction and from working closely with kids at other levels. We would still be there if my financial circumstances hadn't changed. They strive to be religiously neutral and don't celebrate birthdays or holidays, but they do have other celebrations and the kids don't feel deprived. They also go on a great variety of field trips. The K-2 teacher is new and I don't know much about her, so you'd have to see what you think about her. The last one was really good. Good luck!

I agree with LaChelle. My husband and I intend to send our children to Valley Christian as well. We have many friends who currently attend, and they LOVE it! One long term benefit is that students are able to stay at the same school all the way through high school. They aren't on the same campus, but there is a sense of community that connects all three. The after school offerings at the elementary level are amazing! (The junior high and high school facilities and programs are phenomenal as well, but I realize that your immediate need is at the elementary level.) You should take a look at the website at www.vcs.net and set up a tour. Also be sure to ask about the Little Warrior Nation (athletics) and the Kidservatory (elementary branch of the Conservatory of the Arts). There are some wonderful opportunities for students with varying interests and abilities. If money is an issue, you should be sure to ask about financial assistance. Good luck with your decision!

and while it's not exactly located in Cambrian, Los Gatos is but only a small hop, skip or jump down the road. The program is fabulous, the faculty are amazing, and the 14 acre campus is to die for. I recommend an open house or tour. If you like what you see and hear, and you will trust me, set up an opportunity for your daughter to spend a few days shadowing. The cost of tuition can be alarming, quite alarming at first especially in this economy, but don't let that turn you off. They have an outstanding financial aid program that can shave off up to nearly 85% if applicable and without stigma.

Truly if you seek to find an education which engages each and every childs whole person, loves doing so and acheivment and excellence just so happens to unfold...set your sights on Hillbrook, you won't be disappointed, and more importantly your flourishing child won't be either.

Please peruse their website, you can try if you like to find that negetive you're sure must be there, after all how could one place be so perfect for your family, right? Well you can try...but you will not findit, for it truly I believe does not exist, at least for our family, and I don't think we'd be quite as happy anywhere else.

Hello, My daughter goes to Valley Christian and I love it. The staff there is wonderful. I am not sure if there is a waiting list as it is a really popular school. Call ###-###-####. My daughter is in second grade and has been going since the summer before kindergarten and my sister graduated last year and is now at UC Berkeley. There are great opportunities and the teachers are wonderful. I have never been so happy with a school. My step-sons attending public school and it was horrible. Best of Luck!.
