Recommendations for Gynecologist on Northside of OKC or Edmond

I had my daughter in Enid at a birth center, and I haven't found a gynecologist that I like in OKC yet. It has been too long since I have had an annual exam, so I need to find a gynecologist that is fabulous. I tend to be pretty skeptical of doctors and opt for more natural treatments and a wait and see approach for most things, so I need a doctor that doesn't mind being questioned. I would also prefer a female doctor or even a Certified Nurse Midwife. Most of the search results in the recommendations here are related to having babies, but I am fairly sure I am done with that, so I need to know more about the GYN part of the OB/GYNs. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

I used to go to Teresa Folger at Lakeside Women's Hospital off of Hefner. I absolutely love, love, lover her. I had to switch because she no longer delivers babies and is now just a GYN. I am now using Dr. Bishop who is also WONDERFUL. She is at the same facility. Both are very patient and will sit and talk to you as long as you need to get all your questions answered.
Hope this helps,
L

I highly, highly recommend Dr. Margaret Hall out of Lakeside Women's Center. She delivered both of my children. She has amazing bedside manner and is so easy to talk to. She's sympathetic at all times too. My only problem with her is that she doesn't do family practice!! Because she's the one I want to go to even if I have a cold! Her office number is ###-###-####! I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about her!

I was recommended to Dr. Jeffrey Smith near Baptist hospital. He is actually a GYN/oncologist (and apparently is highly regarded in the oncology department)but sees patients for "normal" GYN visits as well. They will also treat you for the more run of the mill items like colds, etc. (verses referring you back to your primary care dr. like some GYN's do). He's got an extensive list of creditials and specialities, etc. I was very impressed with the level of care and his sincerity and determination. He's got articles from various magazines (I think Time magazine was one of them) about him all hanging throughout his office. He's one of the best doctors I've been to (and I have been to A LOT!). Here's a link to his website: http://drjjsmith.com/index.html
I have also heard a lot of great things about Dr. Folger & Dr. Hall, as the other two posts mention, especially if you prefer a female doctor.

Good luck!

Dr. Huff at Lakeside is awesome also... and she has a PA that is great also -- Janet Richie.... I love lakeside -- I still call the nurses station down in the hospital if it is after hours and I have a question about my baby -they are always glad to help- Dr. Huff was always there when we needed her - she explained everything - she also made my husband feel included, which was important to me.... She is great (everyone at lakeside is good I think!)
hope this helps! good luck!

Dr. Lisa Wasemiller-Smith, of Lakeside Women's Center on Hefner Parkway. She is probably the best ob-gyn out there! She has been my ob for nearly ten years and I love her! Her PA Susan is awesome too. ###-###-####
