Hi wonderful mommies! I'm thinking of switching to a new ob/gyn very soon and would love some input. I'm not unhappy with my current doctor, only her office staff and scheduling/patient load. I've have some unfortunate things happen to me this past year and have had lots of problems getting in to see my doc for an appointment. She has way too many patients and/or I've been scheduled only to find out I'm not on her calendar once I arrive. It's very frustrating and upsetting. I would love to hear where you all go and would prefer someone close to Overland Park Regional or Shawnee Mission Medical Center because it would be close to my home. Also, I do prefer women doctors. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much and happy holidays!

Dr. Sharla Shipman with Women's Clinic of Johnson County delivered both of my babies and I've been seeing her for my yearly visits for almost 7 years now. She has an office near Shawnee Mission, Menorah, and maybe one other place that I can't remember. She is a great doctor and all of the other doctors in the clinic are also women. I highly recommend her!

Johnson County OBGYN, off of I-35 and 75th street, west side... DR SHERIDAN.. is the best.. He has delivered my 5 children, and helped with 2 miscarriages. I never thought I wanted a male DR, until I met him. My female OBGYN, could not compare, at all. He cares so much about his patients.. most of the nurses at SMMC have him for a OBGYN. Try him, you will not be sorry. He is great.

I go to Kansas City Women's Clinic at Overland Park Regional! LOVE IT!! They are very compassionate and take the time to listen if you have concerns. And I've never had a problem with scheduling. I used to see Dr. McBride for gyn, but now I see Dr. Newby for ob since I had a baby in June and am pregnant with my second. Dr. Nichols is wonderful too (she actually delivered my baby in June)! Their phone number is ###-###-####.

I also go to Johnson County OBGYN and see Sr. SHeridan. He is so patient and kind. I understand wanting to see a female because I had a female up until my third. He is getting ready to deliver my fourth and I wouldn't have it any other way. Someone recommended him to me and so I gave it a try. Good luck!

I recommend Women's Healthcare Group in the Drs office buildings near OP Medical Center. I've been with them for a couple years now. I see Dr. Moulton (male), and recommend him (delivered our twins), but if you're more intereted in a female doc, I have also seen Dr. Courtney Younglove in that practice and really liked her. She really took her time answering questions and discussing our pregnancy issues. The practice also has a number of midwives on staff if you are interested in seeing a midwife, as well as a lactation consultant, which has been very helpful.

I've gone to KC Women's Clinic for the last 10 years- they are located in the medical buildings next to Overland Park Regional. They've delivered all three of my kids and almost all my nieces and nephews. They are a larger practice, so you have the odds of seeing a variety of doctors. I had Dr. Stites -who is by far the gold standard - but she's no longer delivering :(- delivered my first. If you're wanting a female I've seen Dr. Maggie Smith and Rhonda Wright both were great. I've heard a lot of great things about the other female doctors as well. I've always had a female preference, but went into labor on my own for my third and had Dr. Aroyo deliver. I had never met him before, and had had a very challenging delivery with my second so I was very concerned- but he was fantastic. He kept everything very mellow - was attentive - and it was a great experience. The practice delivers out of Overland Park Regional which has the best NICU in the area - so it's a great place to deliver. After having two healthy and one NICU baby, I can tell you it is priceless to have high quality care in the same place you deliver- and be close to home. My sister lives in Lee's Summit and she and her husband are both nurses. She is driving out here to go to KC Women's Clinic based upon recommendations from doctors and co-workers out there- I hadn't even recommended them myself because I thought it would be too far to travel! I think it's a great compliment when healthcare professionals personally recommend and use a practice.
One other thing- I had seen Dr. Lea Ridgeway (recommended by another member) about 13 years ago. I never had a baby with her, but I really did like her too. We moved, and insurance changed so I stopped seeing her.
Good luck!!!

I see Dr. Jessie Holmes at Women's Clinic of Johnson County. I have been a patient of hers for a couple years now and she was my ob/gyn while I was pregnant with my son who is now a year old. Since it was my first pregnancy I had lots of questions and she was great about answering all of them. I just feel very comfortable with her as my doctor. All the doctors at this clinic are female which I also really like. There are two locations - one by Shawnee Mission Medical Center and one by Menorah Hospital. The web site address is www.wcjcobgyn.com

Well I go to Dr. Cederlind (male), he is with Johnson County OBGYN ( http://joco-obgyn.com/ ) you may have seen their office from I35 and 75th Street ! I myself prefer a male, but they do have a female, Dr. Cooper. I am not sure if she is the only female there, but I had a friend who went to her and liked her. If you can stand to have a male doctor then I would recommend Dr. Cederlind he is awesome. He is an older guy, married and 5 kids ! He is understanding and patient ! I have to be the worst pregnant patient he has ever had LOL and we get along great ! Good Luck !

Depends on wether you are looking for male or female. I spent nearly 20 years working in this field. My suggestions are as follows: Dr. Lea Ridgway (delivered my grandbabies), Dr. Maggie Smith, Dr. Tracy Cowles, Dr. Melanie Martin. Dr. Brett Finley, Dr. Timothy Bennett, Dr. Randy Sheridan, Dr. Eric Peck, Dr. Doug MacFarlane, just to get you started.
I assure you that you will get the best care available and that special treatment you so deserve. They are all amazing.
Good luck.
