Recommend Invisalign for Straightening Teeth?

I have an opportunity to get this for less than half price.
Does anyone have experience with this procedure?
The process normally takes 6 to 12 months.
Is it comfortable? Is it easy to follow through with the
process? Is it difficult to talk? Is it noticable when you
are wearing them? My dentist has recommended it for me.
The offer will be over soon so I hope to make a decision
quickly. Thanks for any comments.

I recently had braces as an adult. I went with traditional "railroad tracks". I know myself and the ability to remove the invisalign would just be too tempting when movement got uncomfortable. That being said, I have invisalign style retainers that I wore afterwards and now wear at night. To me they are very comfortable. You can't see them at all and they do a great job of keeping my teeth where they should be. At first I had a slight lisp with them, but that went away as I got used to them.

I had braces and I can tell you that moving your teeth is EXTREMELY painful. If my braces hadn't been glued to my teeth I would have ripped them out. If you decide to do invisalign (sp?) you need to have the self strength to go through the entire program. Your teeth will be sore and you will be tempted not to wear the trays (when I would have my wires tightened my entire head would ache).

Good luck!

My 15 year old daughter has invisalign and loves them. The only time she had any real discomfort was with the first tray. Since you put a new tray in every other week the movement is minimal. Since the movement is a lot more frequent than with traditional braces I think it hurts less than traditional braces where you get an adjustment every 6 wks or so. If anything my daughter looks forward to replacing the tray because they get a little loose at the end of the 2 wks. She has never had a problem talking or singing with them in her mouth and she is a singer. She highly recommends them. Her treatment will take about 12 months and cost $3800.

My 10 year old daughter just had her molds done 2 weeks ago. She can't wait to get started with her Invisalign treatment. Her treatment will take about 20 months and cost $5200.

Never done them but just last week my cousin had posted in FB how much she has loved them and a lot of people chimed in with agreement.

We did Invisilign Teen for my son. It worked very well. What you have to do is brush your teeth after you eat, and wear your trays for 23 hours a day. My son was in choir and he took them out to sing - I recommend you do that too, if you sing.

Invisilign is easier than regular braces. If your orthodontist says your teeth qualify for it, I'd do it if I were you.

The first tray hurt so much I had to stop and start after using desensitizing toothpaste. I never had that kind of pain with regular braces. I got mine half off too.

I've been debating it for my younger son. He has a lot of allergies and chemical intolerances and I was nervous to put the material they make the invisaligns from so close to his sinus cavity. If you surf around online you can see where people complain of sore throats, stuffy noses, etc., especially when they start new trays.

That being said I'm still thinking about doing it. It's much easier to manage your hygiene with invisalign. Brackets can cause decay (they did with my older son).

Here is an FDA warning letter that the company that makes Invisalign received: http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetter...

This is just food for thought . . . as I mentioned I'm still debating doing them. And I'm not getting them half price!

Good luck with your decision.

Invisalign is pretty easy. I liked being able to take it out anytime for cleaning. For me, the process was only suppose to take 10 months but it was more like a year and a few months. I did think I sounded a little funny, like I had a slight lisp, while wearing them. Definitely think Invisalign is a lot easier than reg. braces. I had those in jr high. I love having straight teeth again:)
