Preschool Option

I am interested in sending my daughter to French immersion preschool next Fall. What is available currently is at French Academy of Minnesota and it is more hours and more expensive than we can afford. Our daughter is currently going to French class one hour per week at Mes Amis French School in Hopkins. I spoke with her teacher about doing French preschool next Fall. What I would like would be three mornings per week for 2 hours, really a very traditional preschool schedule. She said that she would do it if there was enough interest, and by enough interest she needs only a minimum of three or four children for the class. My question is...Is there is anyone besides me in Mamasource world interested in such an option for her preschooler?

What can I do next?

Hi B.. My son attends the French Academy of MN part-time and we absolutely love it. All the teachers are native French and the director is a sweetheart. I'm not sure what the director has scheduled for the upcoming school year, but I know that there are a couple of kids in the preschool class that are part-time with various structures. My son attends only for about 2 hours, 4 morning per week. A couple of other children attend only in the afternoons, and the hours vary. I believe there is one child in my son's class that attends only on Mondays and Fridays (or something close to that). You might want to speak with the director about it. Also, there's financial aid if you're really serious about sending your child there. My son has only been attending since this past October and already knows his colors and numbers in French and is singing me French songs. It's great!

Hi - I know this is very after the fact, but I'm curious if you were able to get a group together?

We are moving to MPLS in the next few weeks and would love our son who is 4 years (and daughter - 2.5 yrs!) to be involved in a french preschool program. we also looked into the French Academy but it will be too expensive.

My husband speaks french to them and we really want to find a place where it can be further reinforced.

Let me know if you found anything - or if you are still looking for more kids!

E.

My children are grown now, and I celebrate your decision to provide this opportunity for your daughter. There are huge, huge benefits! I wish you the best in finding other children to join her.

B., if my son doesn't attend French Academy of MN, then I'd be interested in a program such as yours. We submitted our application and our waiting for a response . We don't need him to attend until the Fall. If he doesn't like the school, we were planning on sending him to St. Stephen's Lutheran school for their 2/day a week program. Will your daughter be going to Mes Amis throughout the summer? If so, I'd like to send my son there.

B.,

My daughter Grace is also at Mes Amis and is ready for pre-school. I would also be interested in more than an hour a week. MWF, or MW would be good for us (as far as I know at this point). My girls love Rose she is such a great teacher I hope we can get this to work out.
