Potty Training--Afraid of Potty Chair

I'm not forcing the issue since my daughter is only 19 months, but she is starting to show some signs she's ready to be potty trained, except for one thing. She won't sit on her potty with her bottoms off. She recognizes when she pees and poops and will tell us. She wants us to change her diaper every time she goes to the bathroom and she's staying dry for longer periods of time. Any tricks to get her to want to sit on her potty? She'll sit on it dressed, just not with her bottoms off.

What can I do next?

My daughter and I had "potty time" where we would both go sit down every hour or so. We started at 11 months when she started taking off her diapers and wanting panties and she was also staying dry all night...by 13 months she was fully potty trained.
One thing i did notice after a while was she didnt want the small little potty chair..she would cry and try to sit on the big potty so we bought her a step stool and the seat that goes on the toilet...

Just show her that YOU dont sit on the potty with your undies on. She'll want to copy you eventually. She might not be quite ready yet. Just leave the chair out so she gets used to it, maybe before bathtime when she's already nude would be a good time to ask her to sit on her potty. When the tub water is running it usually gives the urge to pee, that's how I think I would start it anyway.
She might do better on the big pot tho, with one of the adapter seats put on it. Thats how I did my kids, I never had one of the little potty seats.

Let her sit on it dressed and get comfy with the potty. You can move to sitting on it with just her diaper or undies when she is ready and then on to sitting with her bottoms off. I think she's trying to get herself used to sitting on it by doing it with her clothes on. Just give her time.

That's how my son started showing he was ready. Every time someone went to the bathroom he would go in and sit on his potty with all of his clothes on. I would just follow her lead she's almost there :) My son never sat to pee but to get him to sit to have bm I would give him a little reward at first just for sitting on the potty with a bare bottom then once he got that down we moved onto a small reward when he went we did this in combination with the three day method and he potty trained very quickly.

tatoos tatoos and more tatoos. mine went through the same thing and is ready to train so I bought tatoos. he sits he gets a tatoo wether he goes or ot. he will sit just for a tatoo.he will point to his tatoos and say sit? I say yes he goes sit and I give a tatoo. works wonders and the tatoos wear off or wash off in time. he is covered in tatoos and he sits with no complaint crying or whining. he is more than happy to sit for a tatoo. they are $1 for 19 at dollar general cheaper than diapers

That's the first sign of interest in the potty but she is way too young. If you want to make it easier on you and her, wait until she's older. My pediatrician advised me to just wait and let my daughter potty train herself. She essentially did, but she was close to 3 before she was completely trained (day and night). It was so easy and happened almost overnight. Wait a few more months.

Keep doing that it will help her get used to sitting on it. It might be months before she sits on it without clothes and then more months before she goes to the toilet in the potty. Read her some books about potty use while she is sitting there. Try Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi or Once Upon A Potty (although this one bugs me my DD loves it).
