Have you tried something that is soy based instead of milk based? I breastfed my daughter for the first three months. When we switched formula, WIC gave her milk based and it really made her sick. We then switched to soy and all those problems disappered.

Hi

We had a similar challenge with our son who is now 7 months old. We're finally getting it under control and he's on Prevacid (1x per day) and Zantac (2X perday). Additionally, we changed his formula to Enfamil AR (Acid Reflux). Also, ensure you burb often (we still burp at the 2 oz mark).

Suggest you work closely with your pediatrition as it can cause other problems. Don't want to alarm you but stay on top of it.

you should ask the dr. if he will write a note to see if she can go back on the other formula and if not reduce the amount in half is it power?or liquid Esta

My son had this problem when he was a baby too. The doctor said it was acid reflux. We tried several formulas but found the most luck with Enfamil AR (Added Rice Starch). This formula is a bit thicker & allowed my son to keep it down better. I also had him sleep in an inclined position. For the first 4 months of his life I slept on the couch & he slept inclined in an infant seat right in front of me. This allowed him to sleep more comfortably & allowed me a bit more sleep as well. Good luck, I wish you the best~

soy formula and reflux medication like zantac and axid worked for my daughter, and health insurance will pay for infants formula that is not basic milk based formula. My daughter went to a specialist gastroentorologist.. I am sure I spelled it wrong. Talk to your pediatrician, the medicine and soy formula had wonderful results.

Well first thing is the formula she may need a soy milk if the formula is not agreeing with her that would be a decision the doctor would have to make. The second thing is the film on his tongue, if that film is Thrush it could make the baby very irritable and not want to drink that is also something to consider.

I would really press your ped. on this issue. It doesnt sound like usual spit up, she might need new formula.

My son had the same kind of problem. He basically threw up everything, and his gas was so awful it made his stomach rock hard. He screamed all the time. He ended up on Enfamil Gentlease. This formula with gas drops worked like a charm. It has 75% less lactose, and the milk protiens are broken down to make it easy to digest. If this hadn't worked, we would have had to go to a soy formula. Nestle Goodstart is also very similar to the Gentlease. Definitely make them switch your formula
