I am still fairly new to the area and I was wondering if anyone knows of a nice outdoor playground or park near Woodbury where I could take my daughter? The only ones that I can find are located on school or church property. Thanks!

We love the playground at Lake Elmo Park Reserve. It is close to Woodbury and easy to get to. Has a huge playground, several smaller playgrounds, plus a great place to swim if you have a mind to. We buy a year park pass, but I think it is $5.00 for a day pass if you want to try it out first. We spend ALOT of time there in the summer :)

Lake Elmo Park Reserve has a fantastic park, walking trails, and a swimming lake. An annual pass per vehicle is $25 but it was well worth it if you can get there more than 5 times in a 12 month period. The playground has 4 to 5 times the equipment that I have ever seen all together in a single play area.

Colby Lake Park is pretty good. It's south West of Valley Creek Rd & Woodbury Dr (19)

The park at Bielenburg Sports Center is south of Bailey on Radio.

The Woodbury Parks and Rec puts out a booklet that lists parks and their amenties.

There is a small park near Colby Lake off the intersection of Lake Road and Woodbury Drive that is good for toddlers. Good walking path and lake, too. 1 larger park on Woodbury Drive between Valley Creek and Tamarack Drive. 1 more larger park next to baseball diamonds on Interlachen Parkway between Colby Lake Drive and Tamarack. For the other side of town, behind Woodbury High School is Ojibwe park.

There is a park off of Woodbury Drive that is really nice. It has a lake and nice playground. If you take 94e to Woodbury Drive and then go right it should be on your left. That is the only way I know how to get there. B.

Hi S.!
You might want to try the playground at Bielenberg (the big white sports dome on Bailey Road).
Also, most of the neighborhood parks around Woodbury have play equipment (some more than others). Colby Lake park which is located behind Valley Crossing (Valley Creek Road north of Woodbury Drive)has a nice playground.
Also, there is a park off of Wimbledon Rd. in the Colby Lake neighborhood that has a nice play area.
As it warms up you might want to try out Lake Elmo park reserve as well - large playground in addition to swimming.
Hope this helps!

There is a lions club and city of woodbury playground in woodbury drive off fox run road and take a right at brookview rd. You can see the play ground from woodbury drive. Usually in nice weather there will be quite a few kids enjoying their play there.

The Lake Elmo Park Reserve is very close to Woodbury. It is a beautiful park with very nice and new playground equipment. One side has a man made lake or wading pool (really nice and clean ;) there are also hiking trail that go all over, it sits on many acres, not sure how many, but it is BIG! My kids love it. You have to buy a sticker for your window, either $25 for the year or $5 for a day. That was the prices for last year. It's definitely worth the $25, you will love it too! Oh, and both sides of it has indoor toilets and sinks. Hate those outhouses that other parks have, Yuck!

Here is the link for parks maintained by the city of Woodbury:

http://www.ci.woodbury.mn.us/parks/pkinfo.html

You can find listings of parks for any city in which you are interested by visiting the city website for parks and recreation. I noticed that the Woodbury site also had links for county parks.
