I've been looking in Bucks County, Delaware County, & Montgomery County. We would like to rent a house. We are looking for something is a nice possibly young neighborhood. We currently have a 13 month old and will be expanding our family soon. We enjoy dining out and a little night life at times, but we are mainly looking for a safe neighborhood to raise children with a good school district. We were considering private schools. Not only would we like to be close to public transportation but basic shopping as well.
One concern I've notice so far is the lack of garages. Are there any small towns that I should be looking into that could accommodate a small growing family? I'll do some research on Villanova, and I've looked around King of Prussia. I've been looking at Downingtown, Norristown, West Chester, and Conshohocken. Are these good areas? I haven't found what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance for any information.

What can I do next?

I live in Bryn Mawr, right by Villanova. The schools here (Lower Merion) are phenomenal. Not too many affordable rentals, though...it's a pretty expensive area. The closer you get towards Philly, the cheaper the rentals, generally. Villanova is a super expensive area. Narberth is a really cute area. It's still within LMSchools, but has a really nice small-town feel to it. I think you can't go wrong with the school districts in these area: Lower Merion, Radnor, Tredyffrin-Easttown, and Haverford. I'm not sure about any of the other ones...Good luck with your search - we went through this about 2 years ago, too!

I live in Havertown (delaware county). I love it here. We have a cute little community with good schools. Most of the houses here have a garage. You are close enough to the city for the nightlife. Here in town we have an applebees, shopping center, ice skating rink, sportsbar, lots of parks....

Good luck with your search :)

I grew up in Bucks County(Chalfont) but that may be a bit further out than you are looking for. Doylestown has a really nice downtown area with resturants shopping and has a good school district. I can ask my mom about the other areas(I haven't lived there since before college).
