Part Time Job/ways to Make Money

Try working at a daycare as a sub I did this for a long time and enjoyed it cause if I didnt want to go I didnt go it was for a large busy daycare. Or put an ad out for babysitting other SAHM kids while they run errands to pick up some extra cash. Do you bake or cook? Make money doing that for others my MIL sells pies and cakes on the side and she also sews so she makes money that way too. And lastly there are agencies that pay you to run errands for folks who are unable to get around like the elderly or home bound patients.

Well if you are good house cleaner, people are always looking for someone to clean houses.

They usually charge $15 to $20. per hour.

I used to cook for a gentleman and his daughter. He was just divorced and wanted his daughter to have a healthy snack when she came home and a homemade dinner they could heat up each day. Since I cooked everyday, I just doubled up. I cooked at my own home and delivered it to his home each morning.

There are also people looking for a person to stay with elderly people a few hours or a few times a week. This allows their spouse or full time caregiver to have a few hours off a month.

You could make up a schedule for times and day you are available and plug in clients.

Starbucks (part time, lots of diff schedules offered, benefits to p/t employees, I believe).

Paper Route

Garage Sales (constantly go through your things & recyle, p/u things)

Recycle cans (p/u extra from park garbage cans, friends etc)

Sell any old jewelry you do not use

Sell any odds & ends futrniture you have

Offer your tying services on c-list

I have a paper route...I deliver only on Saturdays, it takes about three hours altogether (it's a large route, but I live on it, so it's all walking)...and that brings in about $150 a month. For three hours a week, that's not bad.

I clean houses randomly...I gave up my scheduled weekly jobs because it was too much, but I still go in once or twice a year for a few customers. That pays well.

I also belong to a large number of online survey sites and a few of them pay cash...I get a three dollar check in the mail about once a week from one of them... :) ...but I rake in the Amazon gift cards like crazy. It helps with gift buying and random fun things for my family. I probably make about $50 a month that way.

What about delivering flowers? You could try it out at Mother's Day and make a bunch of money in a couple of days. If it works out, you could see about helping out on a contract basis, just going in on holidays or one or two days a week. That comes from my background in the floral biz, but I hear pizza delivery and other courier-type services can pay well, too.

I don't know if you'd be interested, but they are usually pretty good about working around your schedule.
Availabilityis the key. Perhaps you could work shifts while your kids are in school or on weekends when your husband is home to care for the kids.
We have lots of moms who do that. I know you said you'd rather work with babies, but elder care can be very rewarding too.
It's just a suggestion.
If you are TOO limited in when you can work, it will be difficult to find something no matter where you look.
A five day a week job at a school wouldn't be so bad in my opinion.

Perhaps broaden your horizons. Visiting Angels where you are may have shifts available from 8pm to 8am. Our caregivers get paid $120 for staying the night in someone's home or just being there in a facility as a companion.

ebay keeps my house in order and gives me spending money. Yes, the fees are ridiculous - however - you get 50 listings per month free - the final value fee is 9% - which has tripled since I started selling on ebay in 2001. Feel free to PM me for ideas on ebay - you would be surprised at what you have, what will sell, etc.

You can work at Wal-Mart, Target, Starbucks or some other shop part time. I don't know how flexible they would be with hours. I've never worked at any of these places - so I can't give you first hand experience.

If you want to work with babies - have you considered being a nanny? I know your kids are in school - some people want a live out nanny......

I suggest mystery shopping or merchandising...yes there is a lot of scans out there but there is legit ones as well...I started doing it end of 2003... it was slow going at first Bc I live in a small town and didn't wantto drive to big city....so I started merchandising too....I started working a few hours a week to now I do 2-4 days a week. I have struggled so much with finding a way to make money while staying at home. Finally, I started selling Barefoot Books and doing book fairs at preschools and daycares! I am not the home party type either. My first book fair sold $1300, but my second one only sold $100. It's kind of hit or miss, but I am making money.

I set up the fair when my son is in preschool. I just take my 13-month-old with me, put her in the stroller with some toys/food, and move fast. If it's at a daycare, I can wait until my husband is home and let him keep my baby while I set up in the late afternoon.

How about substitute teaching. That's what I do. I can then close the days I'm available and if I have one sick etc I just don't take a job for that day. When the kids are in elementary school I just took jobs that were at their school. This way I could take them in with me in the morning and back home after school.

Don't be quick to dismiss ebay....if you have kids, there's always a new crop of outgrown clothes & toys right around the corner!

Are you crafty? Then you can make things like your own crafts & either sell at flea markets or online through ETSY ..I also do survey sites myself to make a few $ here and there plus to try out new things for free

How about sittercity.com? You can babysit in your home during school hours. I have a 1 year old and a school-aged child, and I occasionally need a sitter during the day to go to an appointment, etc. My main sitter is in high school, so she can't babysit on school days!
