Hi N., I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma, my children were also relocated to Dallas as a result of Katrina, I'm retired and I also live in the metroplex, well the turn in the economy affected my 401K drastically so I started to look for something and I discovered online a good source of income and the cost to participate is unbelievable, if you would like to take a look at this business you can click on the following link or copy & paste it into your browser, sign up for FREE for 7 days do your due diligence and decided if it is for you, however, I must warn you that you Will Absolutely make real MONEY with this and the cost is a whoppin $10.00 a month.

N.,
I am so sorry. You truly have had a hard time.

I have my own home business. Your experience would be quite an asset if you were interested in doing the same. When you worked in education.....were you a teacher? Is the health and wellness industry of interest to you? Do you enjoy talking to people?

I just wanted to let you know that you are NOT alone. I live in Rockwall and I'm a single mother of 2 girls (7,11). I used to work for a small private school in Mesquite until they closed their doors in June of 2008, when I lost my job. I have remained unemployed ever since (not by choice)...minus a couple of temp assignments. The competition is fierce right now. Try to do whatever you can to make YOUR resume stand out from the hundreds of others. One of the ways I've done this is by pasting my pic on my resume...just make sure it's a good one. I also recommend searching job boards that a lot of people don't know about like indeed.com, Craigslist, Kijiji, Center for Nonprofit Management (cnmdallas.org) and DFWAE.org which is Dallas Ft. Worth Association of Executives. These online job boards will obtain fewer responses as not many people know about them, so you won't be competing agains as many qualified people. There may even be some others that I don't know about.

Also, people getting hired today have an internet presence...many are on linkedin.com. A lot of recruiters search profiles on linkedIn and post jobs there as well.

Good luck to you and if I hear of anything I'll post it here. Keep the faith!
