Anyone else gain lots of weight during pregnancy and having a hard time loosing it? I gained 50 pds while I was pregnant. I still have 10 pounds to loose to get back to my pre-baby weight. I don't look the same and its sooo hard to do. I joined a diet place to do it. I was not skinny when I started either so I still have 25 punds to my goal weight. (All my family and friends are skinny and are of no support to me)

What can I do next?

Hey, T.! I can relate to you also! I hadn't even lost all of my baby weight from my first pregnancy when I got pregnant again! I have started using a weightloss system and have already lost 10 lbs with it! I am so excited about it!!! I can finally fit back into some of my old clothes! I would still like to loose another 10, but I can't tell you how happy I am to have lost the first 10! The program is simple, there is a supplement to take that helps to make you feel full with eating less and boosts your metabolism. Also, there is a great herbal "Daily Detox" tea that helps you rid your body of toxins...it tastes great and is caffiene free! There are 3 different flavors of protein shakes and one (orange) fiber shake that you can replace up to 2 meals a day with...my favorite is the orange one used to make a berry smoothie for breakfast. And, they have great "weight loss chews" to snack on throughout the day. The Berry one is awesome! They just released a new mango one, but I haven't tried it yet. All of these products have a nutritional benefit and help you realize your weight loss goals! I have been using it for about 2 weeks. I use the supplements regularly and replace either breakfast OR lunch with the shakes a couple of times a week. And, I drink the tea daily and the chews daily as well. I have a habit of munching on, well, anything, throughout the day being home with the kids. So, the chews have been really helpful for me! The berry ones taste like a now and later! So, if you want to give it a try let me know...or if you have any questions about it! Its called Figure 8 and you can get more information at www.gofigure8.com. I also can show you how to get an awesome discount if it is something you are interested in! I have an extra un-opened kit if you want to give it a try! Let me know! My email is ____@____.com luck!

The fact that you are trying is all that it is about. In time, it will come off - you have got the rest of your life to get in shape. I guess its kinda too late to tell you should be breastfeeding in order to get the weight off - that is kinda a moot point at this juncture. I breastfed and it did not shed the weight for me. All it did was make me crazy hungry and of course thirsty all the time. All you can do (as time permits) is start being more active. I know that sounds like a famous cliche you hear from everyone - as it is, you are juggling Mommy duties - and every now and then would like a minute to yourself.
I, like you, gained nearly 50lbs with my son who has just turned one recently. And, still I have more to lose. I have tried numerous diets in the past and recently started nutrisytem, but I think the goal is limiting your portion size (that's a hard one for me) and being more active - and raising that heart beat so you burn off those calories.
You need most importantly people around you that will be supportive and not criticize you and you need a network of mom's to tap into and use as a support network.
I have a couple of friends/mom's close to me in Coppell/Flower Mound are in similar situations - and one mom who just had a baby is faced with the same dilemna as you. We met via babycenter/mamasource too.
Not sure where you are, but if you ever need some support or a workout body, we'd love for you to join us.We'll cheer you on -- In the meantime, if I can be of any help or support or offer friendship or otherwise, I would love to keep in touch via email - so please keep in touch. I have a few energy things and appetite suppressant things I am trying right now since my brother endorses a new line via his website which just made national news on EXTRA.
I think just about everything is worth trying if its boost your morale and is safe of course. None of us want to get hooked on diet pills and the unsafe way of losing weight.
Hope to talk to you soon, - you can email me at ____@____.com in there....I know its tough - -when I read your story tonight, I felt like I was talking to myself, so I can relate.
Kudos to you for be being brave enough to post something out there to us Mom's -- who I am sure, are many enough out there -- that can relate. Not everyone has that miracle metabolism and just bounces back right away. I have heard that it can take up to 3 years to get back into pre-pregnancy shape. Your body changes so much after having a baby.

Believe me when I say you are not alone. I have a 13 month old and a 15 yr old. I gained 48 pounds with my 15 yr old and it took me about a year and 1/2 for me to lose my weight with him. I just kept myself busy and active. exercise, dancing and chasing him around and through the years i gained all it back and plus some. I remarried and got pregnant and lost 25 pounds before 2nd pregnancy and had a rough pregnancy. Husband left me when i was 4 1/2 months pregnant and on bedrest but because all the stress i had only gained 5 pounds but i was not thin by all means before i got pregnant. My youngest is 13 months and i am still struggling to lose my weight. I am a single mom that takes care of kids during the day and goes to school at night so i have no time plus the stress doesn't help me lose the weight or keep it off.
Patients and will power and of course motivation and exercise is the key.
I would love to help each other out. I know I can't do this alone.
Please email me at ____@____.com if interested. I am free on weekends. I try to do workouts at home.
talk to you soon.
Michele

I hear ya on this one. I was overweight to begin with and gained about 70 lbs. while pregnant. For numerous reasons (too long to explain), the weight hasn't come off in 2 1/2 years. I've been going to my doctor once a month, and she's been prescribing Meridia. It's not a miracle drug, and I'm not advocating it. I'm just advising you to go see your doctor and talk about your choices. Going to see her once a month has helped me be accountable in trying to lose it. I've lost 35 lbs. so far. Good luck!!

The only thing that worked for me was nursing. That burned the calories far better than any amount of time on the treadmill.
