i think i have it covered pretty much, except, i am trying to come up with a fun and different favor than just plain goody bags!...i can do coloring books, but they cost a lot, more than i am willing to spend for maybe 20 kids. thought about cd's (already have alot of blank ones...), but couldn't come up with music for that. any ideas?

EDIT: March 18th - **just thought of something....i'll buy inexpensive watercolor paint sets!...olivia is always painting, right? i'll set up an area and use one of her "rule of life" quotes on a poster board or something, and have a bin with them in it...cool ;)**

What can I do next?

There is a lot of great stuff in the dollar section at Target like coloring books, stickers, pens, sometimes baskets and stuff. They'd be great for favors.

O-LIVE -E -AH!...That show is so cute! Rule of life #147: Kids will like what ever you give them!~ Ha! Sorry, I couldn't help myself!!

The blank CD's is a good idea. Maybe just download all of your daughters favorite cartoon theme songs. The Backyardigans have LOTS of cute songs! And then maybe some classics like: Ring around the Rosie...Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star...The Itsy-Bitsy Spider?

You don't say how old your daughter is, maybe those are too young for her...Puff the Magic Dragon has always been a favorite of mine. I loved that one song..."Knick Knack paddy Whack, give a dog a bone, this old man came rolling home"...and also "Do your Ears hang low? Can you tie them in a Bow" ...funny stuff! Some classical music can be very engaging as well. You could always go to the store and look at one of those "Kidz Bob" Cd's and then copy them down and download them at home. Everything is just so easy to find these days if you just Google a few key words...

Some of the things my kids have gotten in goody bags this year were bubbles (always a hit) and glow necklaces and pencils and candy rings. The dollar store is a great place to look...sometimes they have cute stuff there, I'm sure you know this already!

I usually do cookies for a goodie for my kid's party. I make sugar cookies in the shape or theme. you could do a pig face, or maybe just do a number (like if she's turning 3, then do a 3 sugar cookies) and decorate it. One batch makes about 24 and you give one to each kid as they leave. That way you know it's not a wasted goodie bag! Or, do something they can use at the party, like a pig mask or something, I'm not real familiar with Olivia the pig, but we've had mad science parties where they goodies were their lab coats and safety goggles. We've had girl parties where they did a craft at the party and that was their goodie.

I so love your CD idea. I'd see if I could download some of those Kids Songs - you know the songs on the radio that are sung by kids or Alvin and the Chipmunks. Ask your daughter what her favorite songs are and make a mix of those.

How about a red boa? Maybe along with some red and white M&M's in a cute cellophane bag?

We just went to a party where my son got a Curious George Book (bought from 75% off books for $1) with a bag of M&Ms taped to it. They didn't spend much, but it was nice and something we use over and over again.

Have you checked the Dollar Tree? They have coloring books (some with colors attached) for $1 each. They also have fun things like glow sticks or packs of sidewalk chalk, also for $1!

Sorry to rain on the parade. But copying music to give to someone else violates copyright laws. I'd check it out before doing it -- even if everyone else does it.

Do you have cds you play for your daughter? Pick a mixture of her favorite songs, or go buy one of kids tunes. Sesame street, Wiggles, Kid Bop, Christian. Make a trip to the music store that lets you listen to the songs, let your daughter help you pick a cd. It would be fun and educational for her, as well as helping her see how to give back.
