I need a new glider - old one broke - did anyone ever have the kind with the ottoman that has a wooden support rest that pulls out for your feet to make them a certain height while nursing? Wondering if it is helpful

What can I do next?

I have not seen one like that before. I would think that would be difficult - to pull out if your arms were full with baby, especially a sleeping baby. But I'm not terribly coordinated!

I had a glider ottoman that went with mine. I broke down and got it - it went with a big armchair style glider - loved it. I could tilt my head back and rest while I nursed. And I left enough space so I could get in chair and still get my feet up, carrying a baby.

So that's what I would recommend :)

I got a gliding rocking chair and the ottoman glides too.
I love it because I can put my feet up and still keep rocking.

i got one from big lots. had an ottoman but i rarely ever used it for my feet. nursing was more comfortable for me with my feet on the floor.

After buying a cheap one when my first was born and hating it I splurged on a good Dutailier. I bought the ottoman with the slide out nursing foot rest as well, it was worth every penny! My son used his rocking chair for so long that we bought new ones for kid number two and number three because the previous ones were still in heavy use in the kids' bedrooms. I still want to buy a fourth one to have in the living room. Before having the nursing stool I had the worst pain in my shins and back of my thighs from having them in such awkward positions all the time. That stool made all the difference!
ETA: The stool is super easy to pull out with your foot while having your hands full with baby. I would leave it out overnight so I didn't have to worry about it in the dark.
