My husband and I have been married for over 6 yrs. We got pregnant with our daughter without even trying and want to give her a brother or sister. We have been actively trying for the last two years with no luck. We are now seeing a fertility specialist and hoping for the best. Our Dr. has said that everything looks normal for both of us but is going to be starting me on fertility drugs later this month. I would welcome any advise or experiences.

So What Happened?

Well I am still not pregnant but I am now on Clomid and so we are hoping for the best. My husband and I have started a new healthier eating pattern cutting out all simple carbs and drinking more water. Hopefully this helps. Thank you all for your wonderful and caring advice.

Hi,

I was kind of in your shoes just before I had my son. I just had no luck getting PG, it took us 2 years of trying and then eventually going to a fertility doc. The doc was all set to start these invasive proceedures & drugs - which kind of made me uneasy. I was scared of the side effects, multiple births and possibly the failure.

My husband & I decided to try one last ditch effort before going with the drugs. We bought a Clearblue Fertility Monitor, a small (but pricey - $200 - Walgreens) computer which tracks your hormone levels & tells you the optimum time for ovulation. You have to do a special pee-stick every morning, but within 2 mos we were PG!!

It ended up being a lot less cost & work then going thru all of the hormone changes & procedures. Here's the website, & wish you a lot of baby dust!!

I was were you were about 2 yrs ago. I am so sorry you are going thru all this.
I know it is so emotionally draining.
Like you, my hubby and i had no problem getting pregnant with our 5 1/2 year old son..we werent even trying.
We started trying when dom was a little over 3 and had no luck. I knew something was wrong after almost a year. I started going to the ob and everything looked normal. Finally they saw that my thyroid was low..and then i was also diagnosed with polysistic ovarian syndrome. I was so devasted and was about ready to give up.
BUT THERE IS HOPE I PROMISE YOU!
My ob put me on clomid and three months later i became pregnant with our now 7 month old son!
So, dont get too down and i hope like me, it is a simple problem that can be fixed.

I have personally not been through this, but I thought I would pass on something my previous daycare lady tried. She had a child from a previous marriage and her and her current husband were trying to get pregnant with no success. She went to one fertitlity specialist and tried many things and spent a lot of money with no results. The second doctor she saw had her husband drink regular cough syrup within one month they were pregnant. This may not work, I don't remember exactly why the doctor said it would but it did. They even joked about having to use birth control when he had a cold.

Hi S. :)

I was married for 5 years before I was able to get pregnant. I thought I was infertal and even went without birth control for all those years.
One day, about 4 years ago, I decided to get on a parasite cleanse program and within a couple months my highly irregular periods became like clockwork. Then shortly after that I decided to improve my diet. I cut out all additives and artificial stuff and ate a lot of fresh healthy foods. I lost 16 lbs and became pregnant.
I really think that a lot, if not most, fertility problems can be solved with diet. But I also recommend getting on a parasite cleanse as well. Sometimes parasites can effect organs in your body, such as your felopian tubes and uterus, among other things.

Best of luck to you! :)

Hi S.,

Since you have had everything checked out, I recommend looking at what you eat. I have had a couple of clients in your situation. We adjusted their nutritional intake and they were able to get pregnant. I am not saying that this is a for sure method. But, if your body is not getting the proper nutrition then it can cause dysfunction of certain organs.

I am a certified nutritionist and I would like to offer you and your husband a free evaluation. This way we can see if there is any changes that need to be made.

You can call me or go to my web site and we can set up a time to talk. ###-###-#### or www.herbalmom.com

Hope this helps and good luck

I was wondering if you possible took Depro-pervera to prevent pregnancy. I was on that birth control and it took me over 18 months to become pregnant, and believe me we were trying like bunnies. Just a thought.
God Bless you for taking the additional responsability taking care of your autistic brother. I don't know the cercomstances but I'm sure it can be a challenge. Your brother is lucky to have you!

My husband and I tried for almost 2 years to have a child and had no luck. We went through all the fertility tests and they couldn't find anything wrong with me or my husband. We were young, my husband was 31 and I was 28. So age wasn't really an issue. I started taking Clomid (a fertility drug) and about 3 months later, I was pregnant with my son. I can't say for sure that it was the fertility drugs that did it. At the same time, I had switched to an all organic (fruits, veggies, dairy, meat) diet because I had done a lot of research on the internet on hormones in the diet and how they affect fertility. Or it could be just luck. We'll be trying for another baby in a few years. I hope we don't have the same issues with getting pregnant again. It can be very stressful, especially if you start taking fertility drugs and you don't get pregnant right away. Just try to relax and hope for the best....good luck to you and your husband!

HI, my name is H.. I tried with my husband for 2 years and no pregnancy. I went to the doctors and they told me, after tests, that I was infertile. They said I had pollycystic ovarian disorder. So...my husband and I decided we would adopt later and stop worrying about it. Three month later I was pregnant with our son Orion. My advise is to relax and forget about it.

If that diesn't work, I have a friend who git pregnant after 2 unsuccessful years, by doing it everyother day, doggy style. It worked in 2 months.

By the way what job do you have that you can work form home. My son has a heart condition (unrelated to fertility issues) and I can not work anymore.

Thank You
H.

I wish you all the luck with your fertility plan! Sorry to get off of the subject, but I was curious about your job that lets you work at home. I am five months pregnant and as soon as I have this baby I am not going to go back to work. I have been looking for something I can do at home, because we really do need the money. I just do not want to leave my baby at day care, I want to be there for her in these important years! Any advice would be great, Thank you and good luck!

I wanted to pass along this websit called fertility friend that helps you track your cycles.
I am currently trying to concieve also. We have a 2 1/2 year old boy who is my light in this world. We tried for almost a year after our first son Daniel was still born due to a chord accident till we got pregnant with Mitchell.

We were pregnant again in November but I had a miscarriage and lost our 7 week old journey at Thanksgiving... Its so tough and I know that every period you have that was supposed to be a baby is like a loss. Loss of hope....
Keep trying, though it is a very long time to wait... all that time disappears once you get that positive pregnancy test...

Here it is www.fertilityfriend.com

Thanks,
C.

Becuase I was having problems conceiving with my son, my OB/GYN prescribed a combination of Metformin & Clomid. One worked to regulate my blood suger levels which would regulate my hormones and the other guaranteed that I would ovulate. It worked for me but it may not work for everyone. I think this combination is what most OB/GYNs first prescribe before any other treatments are considered. At present, I am working on conceiving my second child and Metformin/ Clomid "cocktail" doesn't seem to be working... I'm just praying that it will eventually work because other treatments are too expensive and invasive.

Hey S.,

My husband and I did invetro an have twin boys who will be 4 next month. I am not familiar with the fertility drugs, but do know that you can possibly have multiples. Maybe you need to take a break, sometimes this helps. I didn;t have a choice, I had a tumor nad lost one of my ovaries and tube and the other tube was damaged. This is why we went through invetro which worked the very first time. I wish that I could be more help. I certainly hope everything works out for the two of you and will send some positive energy your way!
How do you like the home business? I have been looking for a home based business but not sure how to go about it.
Good luck to you and your family!!!
