My family and I just moved to Huntersville from out of state. I'm looking for a pediatric clinic that is respectful, open-minded and willing to work with parents wishing for an alternate vaccine schedule, preventative medicine and alternatives in standard vaccines.
We had one in Texas that was excellent and we're hoping to find a similar one here.

Thanks so much! :)

So What Happened?

Thanks Everyone! :) I went ahead and made an appointment today with The Growing Up Pediatrics Clinic and managed to squeeze in with Dr. Wescott. Thanks so much! :)

Mia, I'm watching to see the responses you get. I have looked and have not found a pediatrician that doesn't push vaccines here. Would love to find one myself.

As far as alternative medicine and preventative medicine I have been taking my children (and self) to Dr. Andrea Dobrich in Harrisburg for years. I have moved around in the area and sometimes have had to drive an hour and half to see her, well worth the drive. I don't think I would have survived my pregnancy without her, and she has even treated my newborn baby. The original pediatrician I had, wanted me to stop breastfeeding, and do painful lab work on my baby every week, FOR BREASTMILK JAUNDICE, I got a new pediatrician and took him to Dr.Dobrich. She treated him and, no jaundice, and no more grunting/chokin with reflux. She is the best!! Her office number is ###-###-####.

wow you are in luck because the pediatrician i was going to recommend is actually IN huntersville!

Dr. Talley and Dr. Wescott at GROWING UP PEDIATRICS is wonderful. We live in uptown Charlotte and drive 25 minutes just to go there. We chose them because we are opting out of vaccines for now, and needed to find a pediatrician that was comfortable with this. I interviewed pediatricians all over town and only found 2 that i liked (the other one was down in Ballantyne, Dr. Kanelos).
Dr. Tally is great, and we actually see their newest and youngest doctor, Dr. Wescott. She's been great, and we have had nothing but a positive experience at their practice!

I totally agree with Hannah. I take my daughter to Growing Up Pediatrics as well and they have been great about an alternate vaccine schedule. Dr. Wendy at that practice also has good knowledge of homeopathic medicine. I agree that there is a time and place for antibiotics, but she is very open to requests for other options. I have found myself leaving the office and heading for The Home Economist in Davidson to pick up homeopatic remedies she has recommended. The great thing is that they also have them right in the office! No trip to the pharmacy OR The Home Economist! I've searched, but have not found anyone else in the area......Good luck!
