I grew up Non-Denom. in NY. When my family moved to VA we started attending a COG church (Church of God). Anyways there are things going on there that I do not agree with and do not support. Its a long story....I know there are little things here and there at every church, but this isn't little. Anyways to make a long request short...I am looking for new churchs in the Chesapeake VA area to attend. We have a daughter so the childrens ministry is very important to have as well. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

What can I do next?

We go to New Life Providence off of Indian River Road... it is less than a 1/2 mile from the I-64 exit. We love it and the children's ministry is great. The 8:45am service has individual classes for the kids, and the 11:15am service has a big service for kids. Both are great. Hope this helps. We absolutely love it. It is non-denominational but pentecostal in leaning. The pastoral team is very very healthy spiritually and emotionally. They really are the healthiest church we've ever been to. Yes, they are big, but they treat us and our daughter wonderfully. blessings!

I also attended a non-denominational church most of my life. The Tabernacle Church of Norfolk on Granby Street and the Va. Beach Community Chapel on Laskin Road (sister churches) are wonderful. If they are too far for you, I invite you to join us at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church on Bruce Road in Western Branch. We are Southern Baptist - I don't see much difference from the non-denominational churches I attended. We have a wonderful children's ministry with something planned for the entire summer. Sorry, though, VBS just ended. During the school year we have a very active AWANA program. Tomorrow we are voting on a new Minister to Students and Singles. Maybe we'll meet on Sunday. There are 2 services - 1 traditional and 1 contemporary. Visit us online at jacksonmemorial.org
