I, like you, did not go to the dentist for years and finally I had to go. I went to Family Dental off of Cave Springs. I was so nervous, but when I walked out of there I was very surprised at how gental they were. It was not painful at all (except the bill... LOL) Good luck!
I have been very pleased with Expressions Dental in the O'Fallon, MO area. In fact, for a time we had to go with a different dentist due to insurance but as soon as they were back in our plan, I made an appointment to get back with them! The hygienists are very gentle and friendly, you are involved in the process, the office looks like a spa (I even had a massage chair while I had a filling done!). I go to Dr. Khan in St. Charles. He is right by St. Charles Cine...he is SUPER nice. His number is ###-###-####...he is very personable and makes you feel comfortable.
Dr. John Ebeling in St. Charles is very nice and gentle too. He is located on Fifth Street, St. Charles in the Three Flags Center.
I highly recommend Dr. Eugenia Kardaris. I was in the same situation you are in, not having been to the dentist in over 6 years. They were/are kind, understanding and not condescending in any way. From the receptionist, the hygenist and Dr. Kardaris herself . . .they are wonderful. Their number is ###-###-####. She is in Chesterfield on Chesterfield Airport Road. (Right off of Hwy 40).
