Danielle,

Have you heard of the Mommymuscle series? There's a great one for just Abs called restore the core and one called MommySculpt.

If you want to do the DVDs in class setting, I know that there are classes offered throughout Denver. Visit www.strollerfit.com to find a location near you. The workouts are AWESOME. I've met so many amazing moms and it's nice to have a group to help keep you motivated.

Good Luck!

Ana Caban's Pilates DVDs are my favorite. She started doing pilates after it was recommended to her by her chiropractor. not exactly bootcamp, but she is easy to watch and keeps you going. most of her dvds have more than one workout too, like the beginning mat workout one, it has a 12 minute energy boost workout for days you can't fit in the 25 minute one. I like that my back pops back into place as I do these, and I'm not being crunched by a chiropractor.

I did "Buns of Steel" one time and I thought I WAS IN pretty good shape at the time, but I could NOT WALK for a week without being in pain!

Of course, Buns of Steel also has "Abs of Steel", and more I am sure.

Hi,

I am doing the P90X program from beachbodies.com and it is a great program. With 12 DVDs to choose from, you can get any kind of workout you want. Also, the program includes three levels of workout options plus a suggested nutritional program too with recipes. Even if you follow the diet marginally, you will still see results. Best workouts I have ever done (including gym classes).

I like "the Firm" workouts. They combine cardio with light dumbells. Some of them use the "step" but I have been able to just use the little step stool I bought for my son to be able to reach the sink in the bathroom. They are a little complicated so they take longer to get bored.

Another idea would be to go to the public library and check out a new workout video each week. It's free and has potential for a larger selection!

I second the Biggest Loser DVDS- I have 3 of them and love them. They're definitely the boot camp style and have lots of options for time and workouts. I've changed my body quite a bit using those.

I liked the Tae Bo videos! I have a beginner and an advanced workout. I also like Tammy Lee Webb's Arm, Abs, Buns, and Thighs of Steel even if it isn't a cardio, you still need a balance between cardio and muscle toning.

Have Fun!

We just ordered 10 minute trainer and it is a good work out. My husband and I excercise together every day. We both want to lose weight and it is a major workout in 10 minutes. You get 5 different workouts and you can do as many as you like at each workout. You can check out the workout at 10minutetrainer.com or beachbody.com. They are by Tony Horton.

Go to the library. They tend to have a pretty good selection. Just browse and find one you want to try. The good thing is you get a new one every week so you don't get bored, and there's no cost so no risk to try somethig new. Hate it = take it back early.
Have fun with it!

I love all the SHAPE DVDs. They are fun and I have always gotten a great workout from them. I also agree with a previous poster about checking DVDs out from your library. And, Amazon.com has great prices on used DVDs.

The Biggest Loser Cardio DVD is awesome. There are 3 different fitness levels on it, and the trainers from the show explain everything step by step during the workout. I alternate the Cardio DVD with the Body Sculpt DVD (every other day,) which saves me from getting bored.

If you like the boot camp style DVD's I would go with P90 or P90X (more intense). They are amazing in 3 months you will be in the best shape of you life. They map out the 3 months, each day are different workouts. Ranging from Arms, shoulders, back, legs, yoga, plyometrics, cardio, there are 12 different DVD's. It's amazing I would suggest it to anyone.

"The Firm" workouts are the best that I have found. I good thing to do is to check some out from the library until you find one that you want to buy.

my favorite when i was able to do it (physical limitations now) was the Reebok Aero Step. it's the one that comes with the Reebok step (which is also my favorite step to use, but more expensive), but you can order the video by itself. i liked it especially for what it did for my back muscles. i was in such great shape when i was using the video regularly. it was so much more challenging than the jane fonda videos i was used to.

I have series of the Billy Blanks videos and I love them. He has different videos for different levels in your workout. One of my favorite's is a 30 minute boot camp workout.I always feel I get a really good workout with him. Also I think the turbo jam, and kick boxing are good too. My sister in law is a gym trainer and turbo jam is her favorite.

As far as the boredom, I suggest checking out DVDs from the county library. You get to keep them for three weeks, and you can put holds on other popular workouts. I like this better than buying sets that will just clutter my home.
