Hi - I will be very likely moving to Carmel Valley in the next two months and will be seven months pregnant. I am looking for some recommendations on an ob, and hospital to give birth as well as a pediatrician. I have an 18 month old son as well.

Hello. Well I moved to Poway back in Jan from Iowa. I had a 11 month old son. I was very worried about finding a good ped. dr because the ped dr. I had in Iowa was the best and he was actually my dr. growing up. I still fly back for the big visits but actually interview a few ped. dr's in the area. I love Dr. Thomas Page. He is great. Very caring and always takes the time to listen and answer all my questions. He has a few other Dr's in his practice and they all are nice but I really like him. I also have heard great things about Sharp. Good luck and I hope you have a safe and EASY delivery.

Welcome to San Diego J.! My recommendation is for Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center. They just opened a new building in Carmel Valley and they have a fantastic reputation here in the county. There is a female ob/gyn, Dana Chortkoff, that practices there that is super nice. That would also mean that you would have access to deliver at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women. I've been with Sharp for over 10 years and delivered both of my kids there. My son was a preemie and stayed at Mary Birch in the NICU for 10 days. I cannot possibly speak highly enough of the care from everyone. Check them out for yourself: www.sharp.com. They have good pediatricians too, but my kids see other docs due to where we live. Good luck and welcome to town.

Hi J.,

I absolutely love love love my doctors. My OB is Dr. Enyedy at Pacific Coast Women's Center ###-###-####). All the doctors there are fabulous. They took care such great care of me with both my pregnancies and I highly recommend you give them a try. They are affiliated with Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas - not far from Carmel Valley. My children's pediatrician is Dr. Christine Wood from El Camino Pediatrics ###-###-####) in Encinitas as well. She is absolutely fantastic. Really wonderful with the kids and she calls to follow up after your visits too. She doesn't mind explaining things to you and is very helpful. I'm really happy to have found her. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Take care,
S.

Hi J.,

Well I love my OB. I am not sure where Carmel Valley is, but my doctor is in Rancho Bernardo. His name is Dr. Kreitzer and his nurse prac. is Lisa O'Brien - they are both great!!!! They both are very patient with you and listen to all of your questions. They both are really smart and he has been a doctor for over 20 years I believe. Plus you deliver at Sharp Mary Birch - rated top 10 in the nation. If you want to know more, please let me know and I can call you or whatever you'd like.

Hope that helps!

B.
