I'm looking for a mommy me group (mom & infant gathering) in the NW area or the pearl. Is there one besides what Good Sam offers?

What can I do next?

There's a great one called MOMS Club (stands for moms offering moms support)of Portland West Hills. Here's their website. Hope it helps. http://www.geocities.com/portlandwesthillsmoms/
If the link doesn't work for some reason, you can find off the main website, www.momsclub.org
It's a great group to be a part of for a first time mom and/or one who is new to the area.

I met my Mom's group through St. Vincent's New Mom Group. About a dozen of us were put together and have babies born within January, February and March of 2007. I'd recommend going to a few of their meetings and getting your name on the list to join a group. It has been wonderful and we get together for all the holidays and other events too. My recommendation is to find a group with babies around the same age as your daughter. It is fun to compare progress with other mom's too. Good Luck!

Willamette Hospital in Oregon City used to offer a wonderful mother-baby group/class when my boy was a baby some 11 years ago. It was a well-lead class, and they also offered plenty of resource materials for new moms. It is a little(!) out of the way, but I found it was more than worth the drive; I drove from the Multnomah Village area in SW.

There are a few on Meetup.com. Here are some links:

If you are into Babywearing, or want to learn more about it, there are also some local groups for that: http://nwbabywearers.org/ - that lists all the local groups.

I used to live in the Pearl when I was pregnant, and also delivered at Good Sam. I love that area! I'm actually headed down there today to hang out. I have a 1 year old, who loves other babies. Email me if you feel like getting out of the house this afternoon!
Peace,
E.

I think just about every public library offers a free weekly mommy & baby group. Check with yours.

There is a group that meets at the Green Frog Toy shop every Monday at 10:30am

Also Friendly House in the NW area has a group Tues/Thursdays, although both of these are more for older kids....
figure it is good reference for the future.
